Snoopy90 · 05/11/2017 20:11

What do people think of Coco for a girls name? Surname would be McKay.

Thanks!:)

Nick name .... it’s not a name

loobybear · 05/11/2017 21:01

Sorry but I agree that it doesn't go with your surname.
I like the previous suggestion of Nicole McKay though with Coco as a nickname!

NannyR · 05/11/2017 21:01

I know of a child called Koko, I think it's a great name, not one I would choose personally but it really suits her.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/11/2017 21:02

I like it. I'd put Nicole on her BC, though.
Nicole (Coco) McKenzie is gorgeous

sausagepastapot · 05/11/2017 21:02

I love it!

BertrandRussell · 05/11/2017 21:03

Ridiculous.

Fozzleyplum · 05/11/2017 21:05

If I wanted to call a DD Coco, I'd definitely have it as a nn for a longer "C" name, ch as Cordelia, Constance, Costanza or Cecilia.

3out · 05/11/2017 21:06

Coco Chanel - lovely name
Coco The Clown - not a lovely name.

Unfortunately, I think pp are right and that in order to get away with Coco you need an equally unusual/distinctive surname.

SelmaAndJubjub · 05/11/2017 21:09

Sounds like a stripper - sorry.

JKR123 · 05/11/2017 21:10

Coco the clown. Sorry but that's what first came into my mind and kids at school can be cruel.

N0tfinished · 05/11/2017 21:11

Professor Coco McKay? Wouldn’t be my favorite

Chloe, Cora, Colette, Corrine, Coleen, Courtney, Nicole, Cordelia

chipscheeseandgravy · 05/11/2017 21:13

Had a dog called coco. Based on that alone I’d always associate it with canines.
Also don’t think it works well with the surname.

titsbumfannythelot · 05/11/2017 21:13

I love the name Coco. But I live in Glasgow and it just wouldn’t have the same ring as it would in Paris.

pret · 06/11/2017 07:09

Yes, Cocoa with a A. Very unusual I would think.

greendale17 · 06/11/2017 07:12

Strippers name

BikeRunSki · 06/11/2017 07:19

Coco Chanel’s real name was Gabrielle.

Paddington68 · 06/11/2017 07:30

I think Coco McKay sounds great, Nicole to fall back on, so she can have Coco as a nickname.

Lilonetwothree · 06/11/2017 07:42

It isn't a professional sounding name for when she is an adult.
I know a Coco and her best friend was called Honey Shock

BingBunnyTheBrat · 06/11/2017 08:05

I know a Coco...still can't get used to calling her by her name. She's a very serious person (very rarely smiles actually🙈 ) and her name just doesn't suit her at all! It makes me think of a clown. I think it's awful.

bonbonours · 06/11/2017 08:13

I'm sorry to say my instinctive reaction was it sounds like a prostitute name.....

Discotits · 06/11/2017 08:24

It just sounds a bit...silly. I recently met a little Minnie and felt similarly. Choose a different name and use Coco as a nick name.

treeofhearts · 06/11/2017 08:30

Only if it's for a dog. Confused

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 06/11/2017 08:55

I know of a primary school aged Coco - family are quite posh, slightly eccentric, hippy-ish so the name suits her and doesn't seem too off the wall (her surname is quite common)

stellarfox · 06/11/2017 21:25

I like it but it is a little different and there are clearly mixed reactions to it. I love the idea of using it as a nickname for Cora.

TotemIcePole · 06/11/2017 21:29

I agree that Nicole is nice with coco as a nickname.
