Just wondering what people's thoughts are on Cassie or Cass for a little girl? I absolutely love it but my other half thinks that it's more a name for a puppy!

I do like it, but feel it needs to be short for something but the only thing that comes to mind is Cassandra, which I'm not that keen on...

Mugshotzforlunch · 12/10/2017 13:28

I know four people who all have or have had a dog named cassie. Sorry, not helpful.

Sophronia · 12/10/2017 13:30

I like it short for Cassia

stopbeingadramallama · 12/10/2017 13:30

Horrible

RatherBeRiding · 12/10/2017 13:31

I know a pony called Cassie.

I like Cassandra.

2014newme · 12/10/2017 13:36

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 12/10/2017 13:40

Lovely.

Lostflipflop · 12/10/2017 13:48

My friend has a daughter called Cassidy, always gets shortened to Cass

ChocolateCrunch · 12/10/2017 14:02

I like Cassia and Cassie

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 12/10/2017 14:35

How are people pronouncing Cassia?

I thought it was a Polish name pronounced Casha

SpikeGilesSandwich · 12/10/2017 14:43

I like Cassie and Cass but couldn't use them as I'm not a fan of Cassidy and though Cassandra is lovely, I can only hear it in Rodney Trotter's voice.

Cass makes me think of Mama Cass, she was awesome.

WildCherryBlossom · 12/10/2017 14:56

I love Cassandra and Cassie for short. The polish name pp mentioned is usually spelt Kasia and is pronounced Kasha. Never heard of Cassia. Not keen on Cassidy. Keep thinking of Butch Cassidy.

Short for Cassandra- if you don't mind the sad associations of the name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/10/2017 15:33

Gorgeous, elegant pretty feminine. Not too come. What's not to love
Not fussed on Cassandra, though

AnyaMoondial · 12/10/2017 15:35

Really lovely.

PhatSlag · 12/10/2017 15:36

There’s a Cassii at DC’s old school. I always liked it.

PandaCat · 12/10/2017 16:03

I quite like it. It's not a name you hear every day.

LockedOutOfMN · 12/10/2017 16:05

I like the name Cassie, I know an (adult) Cassie and she is lovely.

InvisibleKittenAttack · 12/10/2017 16:20

It does sound like a nick name, would you consider finding a long name that it can be nick name for?

But not Cassidy, she'll get nicknamed "Butch" which might be funny if she's confident and a tiny yet elegant thing, not so much if she's a larger, shy teen.

PinkBuffalo · 12/10/2017 16:23

I think Cassie is a lovely name

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 12/10/2017 16:25

I know a Jocasta who goes by Cass. I think it's quite cool.

wobblywonderwoman · 12/10/2017 16:27

I know a Catherine who is known as Cassie
Love it
