Don't.

bridgetreilly · 08/10/2017 23:05

Traditionally, it's a boy's name. For girls, I'm afraid it's inextricably linked with Paris Hilton, which may not be the connection you want.

elQuintoConyo · 08/10/2017 23:05

No.

Fluffysparks · 08/10/2017 23:06

Just... no.

Liadain · 08/10/2017 23:07

I think most people would think of Paris Hilton.

Not great for a boy or girl imo!

yodelehoho · 08/10/2017 23:08

That's a NO from me. Awful. Cruelty to children.

LadyLovelace · 08/10/2017 23:09

To me it is absolutely 100% a boys name.

0to3SadOnions · 08/10/2017 23:10

I like it. Also like Karis.

Does anyone even know who Paris Hilton is anymore?

DramaAlpaca · 08/10/2017 23:10

People will think the baby was conceived there.

LadyLovelace · 08/10/2017 23:11

And not a very nice boy as he started a war.

sureitsgrand · 08/10/2017 23:13

Funny was pondering same name myself and was going to start a thread last night! I think I love it?! But it's not my usual type of name.

Migraleve · 08/10/2017 23:19

Paris Jackson was my first thought, never made the Paris Hilton connection.

Sophronia · 08/10/2017 23:34

I don’t mind it for a boy but not keen on it for a girl.

stopbeingadramallama · 08/10/2017 23:35

There was a girl called Paris who was a few years younger than me at school. Everyone used to laugh at her name.

I don't think it's terrible, but don't like the named after places names.

Ojoj1974 · 08/10/2017 23:40

Boys name
Tacky '90's nanes

Ohyesiam · 08/10/2017 23:42

Nice.
Makes me imagine a girl who is very pretty and self contained!

MrsMerryFestive · 08/10/2017 23:44

I think it's the name of a city, not a baby.

Might as well add Vienna and Berlin to the list.

What about Cardiff??

you did ask

mammyoftwo · 08/10/2017 23:52

No.

SuperBeagle · 09/10/2017 00:17

No.

stopbeingadramallama · 09/10/2017 00:24

@MrsMerryFestive don't stop at Cardiff. What about Bradford? Blackpool? Sunderland?

MrsMerryFestive · 09/10/2017 00:34

To be fair to OP, maybe she wants to keep it French. Maybe Lyon or Biarritz?

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 09/10/2017 00:43

I think there's far better city names you could use instead.

Rome, Florence, Vienna, for example.

Paris is a bit Paris Hilton. She's not really a positive role model.

ChocolateCrunch · 09/10/2017 07:54

Sorry, don't like it for a girl or boy

Crumbs1 · 09/10/2017 08:00

As a city it's beautiful. As a name it comes just above Grimsby.

Pemba · 09/10/2017 08:01

I do like the sound of it, but the fact that it's the name of the city which puts me off. Apparently London is also very popular for kids at the moment, in the USA, and of course to us Brits that sounds ridiculous. Parisiens might feel the same way.
