How would you pronounce "Evelyn"

Is it "EEV-LYN" or "EVER-LYN"? I think the latter sounds like the American pronunciation but I'd like people's opinions on how they would pronounce?

Ev uh Lyn, only because I went to primary school with one and that's how she pronounced it.

I've got an Evelyn, pronounced Eve-lyn, but a lot of people do mispronounce it ev-lyn or ever-lyn, even when corrected.

I think either way is fine, just be clear which is your way
