Do you prefer Otis or Ezekiel

Hello

My baby will be mixed race.

We're undecided on

Otis Matthew
Or
Ezekiel Matthew

What do you think?

Matthew is a family name we'd like to use but not sure whether to have two middle names maybe something like Matthew James ?

Prefer Otis, I know a couple and they are lovely. Ezekial is a bit biblical for me.

Ezekiel, definitely. The nickname Zeke is great, and Ezekiel Matthew is a lovely combination. I wouldn't put James in as well (it's used so often as a middle name, it sounds stronger without it).

Well there's no point in people suggesting names that my Jamaican husband wouldn't find inkeeping with his heritage.

Ezekiel only works if you're an out-and-proud shove it down everyone's throats Christian. It's very Bible Belt American.

Maybe this person is a Christian folks and is proud and pleased about it. And if course race matters. I'd be unlikely to choose a name that didn't feel right for my background.

I really like both, but Otis edges it. And I also get why you mentioned baby's heritage. Smile

Incidentally my DS has a name some people describe as 'very Bible Belt America' - yeah, not in my corner of London it's not! I think the same is true of Ezekiel.
