Is Sophie too popular?

I've suddenly got it in my head that DC2 (DD1) is going to be called Sophie!

Is this too popular and will she be one of many in her class? My name is very common, similar to Sarah and I've always been Sarah B. Which is a bit annoying and I'd prefer to avoid for her if possible!

I think you'll find that Sophia is very popular.

But (from what I've seen/heard) there are way fewer Sophias than Sophies.

Meh, but at the end of the day I would prefer Sophia

I read somewhere that sophia had overtaken sophie this recently.

Not that it matters. Choose what you like.

My daughters Sophie (such a beautiful classical /timeless name) she's 4. She's the only one in her nursery class. If you like it use it. I have a Joshua and Joseph which again are popular names there's three Joseph's in one class but I choose a name the reflected what I liked not if others had the same name. Btw I have an uncommon name and hate it!

I have a sophie and she is wonderful so I am biased :) it means wisdom and she certainly lives up to her name, always been very inquisitive and full of facts!
