I love Winter Rose and Winter Grace

Have to say I am rather bemused at the love for Winter (the name, am rather fond of the season). It isn't really a name, tbh, although force of use has made it one. And there are so many lovely girls' names to choose from. And lots of people won't have positive associations with it - they'll think more sleet and drizzle than holly berries and sparkling snow.

How about Rowan? Hazel? Good strong nature names.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 09/08/2017 22:10

Or Laura? Erica? Jasmine?

TartanDMs · 09/08/2017 22:10

Winter Jonquil
Winter Raine
Winter Blossom
Winter Minerva
Winter Diana

Winter Janice (January)
Winter Crystal
Winter Dawn

Not sure op to be honest. Did the name of the winter queen in Narnia ever be revealed?

xjasminex · 09/08/2017 22:12

I like the name. It has a nice meaning to me.
Amber is a colour. Paris is a place. Summer is a season and so is autum.

Absolutely gorgeous name OP. I like Winter Isla as suggested above.

I like Winter Belle but I have just vetoed Belle after much consideration for our little one because I think it could be a bit too novelty.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 09/08/2017 22:16

The Queen in Narnia was Jadis. Winter Jade is nice.

AprilShowers16 · 09/08/2017 22:20

We just came across the name Winter this evening and seriously considering it but not sure if I'm brave enough. I would definitely pair it with a more classic name like
Winter Elizabeth or Winter Rebecca. I think Winter Rose is a bit twee to be honest

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 09/08/2017 22:20

If you were going for a flower name, then I prefer Winter Lily to Winter Rose.

xjasminex · 09/08/2017 22:20

I know a woman named hazel who sleeps with every man she can get her hands on.

I went to school wth a roman that smelt like urin.
Lovely names but sadly been spoiled haha

Love the name.

I'd go for Winter Amélie or

Winter Sophia.

minipie · 09/08/2017 22:22

I'd avoid anything ending in an -a sound as it repeats the -er of Winter. I'd also avoid nature middle names as it's all a bit Flower Fairy. How about:

Winter Joy
Winter Maeve
Winter Blythe
Winter Merryn
Winter Seren
Winter Bryony
Winter Cecily
Winter Madeleine

namechanger2735 · 09/08/2017 22:23

Do you know what her to have a middle name all year round??
Sorry
Il see myself out

xjasminex · 09/08/2017 22:23

Lily is my sisters name. Think my other sisters would be a tad annoyed!

Although I do like it

It's a family name given as a middle name in my family. The eldest child gets Francis (or Frances) Wynter, My mother is Sonja Frances Wynter Surname. As a first name I'd probably reverse the Frances and have Wynter Frances.

xjasminex · 09/08/2017 22:28

Iv never seen winter spelt wynter!
