Otto.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/08/2017 09:42

Otto.

But prefer Ivan over both.

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/08/2017 09:44

Ivo is the nicer of the two but I much prefer Ivor

squoosh · 02/08/2017 11:15

Ivo.

Otto reminds me of a whiskery old German grandad. Much like Bismarck.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/08/2017 12:02

Ivo is Eve-vo, like Ivy,Ivan,Iris

Confused So you pronounce those names Evie, Eve-an and Ee-ris??

YouLookTiredDaddyPig · 02/08/2017 12:14

So you pronounce those names Evie, Eve-an and Ee-ris??

I think the PP meant to write Eye-vo and not Eve-vo.

That is a pretty critical error though Grin

Insponeeded · 02/08/2017 12:22

I did mean to right Eye-vo!😂 Didn't have my glasses on!😂😂😂

Insponeeded · 02/08/2017 12:41

Write...jeeze I'm on fire today😂🙈🙈

frid · 02/08/2017 14:25

Otto, I like that it's a palindrome

EmmyInTheSticks · 02/08/2017 15:06

Thanks for the views, I have no connection to Germany, I guess Otto is a Grandpa name that's back in fashion over there as I know a little Austrian Otto and another one from a German family both under 6.

I am hoping it's not too German and works okay in England. We have a surname similar to Fairfax so works with both.

I lean a little to Ivo, I was told by someone it was quite posh and we aren't really so that is one mark against it. It didn't occur to me that it could be pronounced Eve-o so again that may be annoying.

Ivo!

Otto puts me in mind of an old German man.

Highpeak · 03/08/2017 09:30

I like Ivo, it's definitely eye-vo. I went to St Ivo school!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 03/08/2017 13:18

Inspo oh duh, I should have realised your mistake Grin I was trying to work it out, I was sure you didn't actually mean that! Haha!

Sequence · 03/08/2017 13:21

I prefer Ivo (eye-vo).

Not keen on Otto, I find it a bit harsh, although it does seem to be getting more popular.

Mrsknackered · 03/08/2017 14:28

If it's any help OP the Otto's I know are 4, 12 and 26, so I wouldn't describe it as an old man's name at all.
They are also scattered over 300 miles so I wouldn't use them as an indicator of popularity!

Ivo or even Ivor? (am a fan of Ivor the Engine!)
