How many Emilia's do you know?

I really like Emilia as a girls name and DH is ok with it too but don't want there to be lots of Amelias/ Emilias/ other spellings in the same school year.

So I wanted to know whether you know many?

Our short list is very short so other name suggestions also welcome! We like Anglo/ Italian sounding names. Don't know if it's boy or girl which has not helped narrow it down!!

Hotpinkangel19 · 19/07/2017 11:57

No Emilia's, but Amelia is v popular.

Tottyandmarchpane1 · 19/07/2017 11:58

My DD is and we know one other but honestly if you love it, who cares.

londonfeather · 19/07/2017 11:59

I know one, under a year old in North London

3boys3dogshelp · 19/07/2017 12:00

I know one Emilia, 2 Amelias, 3 Emilys and one Amelie. I have boys so I don't know masses of girls but it seems to be a very popular name, along with Ava/Eva. The mum of Emilia gets upset that a lot of people call her Amelia by mistake.

listsandbudgets · 19/07/2017 12:03

I know one Emilia, one Amelie and one Amelia -all in DD's year at school - she's just finishing year 6 if that helps

villainousbroodmare · 19/07/2017 12:04

One, and I was calling her Amelia for ages until I saw it written down.

Sophronia · 19/07/2017 12:23

I know one Emilia and 3 Amelias (and one Ameliah)

TurquoiseOwl · 19/07/2017 13:23

My cousin is Amelia and I know another of the top of my head. I know 1 Emilia.

TurquoiseOwl · 19/07/2017 13:23

*off

dementedma · 19/07/2017 13:24

none

sian96 · 19/07/2017 13:29

I know lots of Amileas but only one Emilia who was in the same year as me at school. Teachers often used to pronounce her name Emmy Leah

StewardsEnquiry · 19/07/2017 13:37

2 Emilias

polarbear33 · 19/07/2017 13:41

I know a couple of Amelia's, no Emilias.

We considered Emilia.ourselves but decided against it due to the spelling/pronunciation pitfalls. So Emily became a strong contender but then a close colleague had an Emily close to my due date and it seemed a bit wrong to use it (silly now I think about it but hey ho). We ended up using Emily as a middle name

We named our dreams Isabella in the end which is shortened to Izzie. Jut one other Isabella in her year (big year, 120 kids).

I also liked Arabella, Gabriella and Francesca but my DH wasn't as keen.

Our second child was also a girl and we struggled a lot to come up with a name...but settled on Claudia.

We have no Italian connections, but clearly had a leaning to 'a' ending names!!

polarbear33 · 19/07/2017 13:41

dreams = daughter

GinIsIn · 19/07/2017 13:42

4, and 3 Amelias

Littlelondoner · 19/07/2017 13:42

At least 5 with this spelling. But does ot matter?

Doowappydoo · 19/07/2017 13:45

2 Emilias, 1 Amelia, 1 Amelie
1 Annabel
2 Isabelle's
2 Isabel's
3 Isabella's
2 Emily's

halcyondays · 19/07/2017 13:48

none, personally I wouldn't worry about a name being popular. But I can imagine a lot of people calling her Amelia or Emily.

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/07/2017 13:56

I know 1 Emilia, 3 Amelia's and 2 Amelie's.

Annabella is just gorgeous

muminthecity · 19/07/2017 13:58

I'm a nursery teacher and currently have 2 Emilias and 1 Amelia in my class.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 19/07/2017 14:05

1 Emilia, suits her, and I think its better than Amelia

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 19/07/2017 14:06

Loads.

But two are drag acts so they're only called that some of the time.

LionsTigersBeers · 19/07/2017 14:23

Two. Fabulous, gorgeous name.
