How many Emilia's do you know?

I really like Emilia as a girls name and DH is ok with it too but don't want there to be lots of Amelias/ Emilias/ other spellings in the same school year.

So I wanted to know whether you know many?

Our short list is very short so other name suggestions also welcome! We like Anglo/ Italian sounding names. Don't know if it's boy or girl which has not helped narrow it down!!

3 Emilia's, 3 Amelia's, 1 Amelie

Thanks all!

I feel it would be cheating to rename the thread how many Isabellas do you know?!!

In the school I work in there are lots of Isabel/Isobel/Isabella's.

GinasGirl · 19/07/2017 15:49

No Annabella's though! ( one Arabella )

ilivebythesea · 19/07/2017 15:50

Quite a few Amelias, one or two Emilias and one Emelia, who never gets her name spelt correctly!

I like Annabella from your list.

I originally wanted my dd to be Emilia, but dh kept assuming I meant Amelia. I didn't want to have to keep correcting everyone so chaise something else similar. Also didn't want her to have to correct people her whole life. It's a beautiful name, but in order to differentiate the E from A, it would have meant over emphasising it which then just sounded wrong.

At least 6 Isabellas

zen1 · 19/07/2017 17:10

I know 1 Emilia and 1 Amelia - both adults between 30-40. I really like the name Emilia. There are many Isabelle's And Isabella's in my DCs primary school. What about Aurelia?

grasspigeons · 19/07/2017 17:10

I did a count of girls at school,
Alice; Emilia/Amelia and Isobel/ isabelle/Isabella each have 7 of that name in the school (9 classes - infants)

Youstolethesun · 19/07/2017 17:11

I have one, she's 5 months old. Very rare that someone manages to spell her name right !!

Mumoftheark · 19/07/2017 19:45

Two Emilia's one is almost 3 the other just 5.
Lots of Isobel's Isabelle's Isabella's and Bella's in my son's school - and class actually (he's 5).
However I do think both are beautiful names and names are only popular when they are nice :)

thisismadness77 · 19/07/2017 19:47

We have an Emilia in the family, and two Amelia's in my daughters preschool class. I vaguely know one other. That wouldn't put me off.

MrsCaecilius · 19/07/2017 19:56

I love Emilia/Amelia and Isobel/Isabella in all their spellings, but along with Annabelle/Annabel they are the most popular names amongst my friends' kids.

Then there are the Evie/Eva/Avas, another theme. And the ones my mum calls 'Victorian servants' names' like Edith/Maisie/Ruby etc

Lemondrop99 · 19/07/2017 20:58

Emmeline?

Mumzypopz · 19/07/2017 21:27

It's s very common name and there are thousands of them.

Cami12 · 19/07/2017 23:41

I know 3 Emelias, 2 Amelias and no less than 4 Amelies. It is pretty, but yes there are a lot of them.

ScarletSienna · 19/07/2017 23:42

None.

Cami12 · 19/07/2017 23:44

Currently 6 small-people Isabelles in all the spelling variations! (Also my mothers name and my daughters middle name.)

PoppingGlitter · 20/07/2017 04:45

3 Isabellas (teenagers), I don't have young children though.

ABCFamily · 20/07/2017 06:14

1 Emilia
3 Amelias

ABCFamily · 20/07/2017 06:16

queenofthedump · 20/07/2017 17:31

I may know some but will always assume that it's spelt Amelia which I seem to come across hundreds of so I'm not sure.

Loopy567 · 20/07/2017 22:43
