Pippin, Percival

What are your thoughts on Pippin nn Pip for a boy?

What are your thoughts on Percival? Do you think it would get shortened? Any other shortening than Percy or Perry?

I really like Peregrine!

I do live in a very posh area though... the rest of my ds's gymnastics class are called Fifi, Ralph, Fabian, Clarissa, Julian etc.

I could live between the pages of Burke's Peerage and I'd still think Peregrine was just awful!

Pippin is an apple or a dog. I think you'd be better off with Phil(l)ip and then call him Pip if you want, at least then be an ditch the nickname when he's older if he wants.

I like Percy but not Percival. Pippin is just silly.

Depends on where you live if it's uber Hipsterland then fine but grittier areas and I'd think twice

When I was small, ingot a comic named Pippin, and the main character was Barnaby Bear.

Pip is short for Phillip.
Peregrine/Perry perhaps.

Pippin = name of childhood friend's Yorkshire Terrier.
Percival/Percy = Marks & Spencers sweets

Peregrine or Percy are fine.
Not such a fan of pippin by itself. Percival is very Arthurian, maybe a but much.
But kids are called all sorts now, wouldn't worry about him being teased for his name.

Piers = much better!
