I can't decide if i like this name, on one hand i do, on the other hand i wonder if people will think "lunatic".

Would love to know everyone's thoughts on it / what you associate it with?

There was a Luna in one of the baby classes I attended with dd about 2 years ago. It's not popular but I don't think you'd get too many raised eyebrows Smile

Ilovewillow · 08/07/2017 13:13

Love it!

Waddlelikeapenguin · 08/07/2017 13:13

I know one & all the small people that meet her instantly shorten to 'looney' which is fine between small people but....

Jooni · 08/07/2017 13:36

I like it. My immediate association is Lovegood, then my friend's black lab. I know of a few dogs with the name if that bothers you (it doesn't me).

Julybug · 08/07/2017 13:37

I love it but my cats called Luna so that's all I think of! It's a lovely name though

EmmaGellerGreen · 08/07/2017 13:37

I know at least 4 dogs called Luna. All cute dogs but not people.

SequinsOnEverything · 08/07/2017 13:41

I love it

ChocAuVin · 08/07/2017 13:48

I think it's gorgeous.

OculusReparo · 08/07/2017 13:50

Love the name Luna. Though I have come across a lot of dogs called Luna, there's nothing wrong with calling your DD that as people do name their sons Oscar, Max and Barnaby etc.

One m of my favorite children's books to read is Stellaluna And Ellen Pompeo has a gorgeous 7 year old called Stella Luna so I am a bit biased Blush

HughAndCry · 08/07/2017 13:52

Did Chrissie Teigen called her daughter that?

HughAndCry · 08/07/2017 13:53

I do think it sounds pretty and reminds me of the moon..

DramaInPyjamas · 08/07/2017 13:58

Very popular in the dog world.

dementedpixie · 08/07/2017 14:00

Was going to call my kitten that but when it turned out it was a boy we changed it

DramaInPyjamas · 08/07/2017 14:00

(Nothing wrong with that of course, but calling your child in the middle of the park could result in lots of random doggies racing towards you!) Grin

Lunatic springs to mind. My friend has a crazy collie dog called it too'
Louisa?
Lucy?
Joanna?

smileygrapefruit · 08/07/2017 19:26

Following this thread as it's on my list. Pretty positive reactions so far!

RockyBird · 08/07/2017 19:31

New baby close to me is Luna. She's utterly scrumptious if that helps.

SequinsOnEverything · 08/07/2017 19:32

It does make me think of Luna Lovegood, but to me that is a positive. She is one of my favourite characters in Harry Potter. Who wouldn't want a child with the self confidence and belief she has?

TheGirlWithGlassFeet · 08/07/2017 19:37

I absolutely love Luna but I would always make the connection to Harry Potter. What about Lena?

turbohamster · 09/07/2017 06:31

Luna cup is my immediate association

Summer1986 · 09/07/2017 06:36

A friend of mine chose it as a middle name, I think it's a beautiful name

Passmethecrisps · 09/07/2017 06:37

I know two little girls with Luna a first name and one with it as a second name. Not as uncommon as you might think but still unlikely to be one of 5 per class.

Lovely name

OliviaStabler · 09/07/2017 06:47

I immediately think Lovegood from Harry Potter.

Henrythehoover · 09/07/2017 06:50

I like the name as I called my cat it. Blush
