Beautiful

IrregularCommentary · 08/07/2017 00:18

Lovely.

Buntysoven · 08/07/2017 01:22

Please no more Ellies!

Mrsknackered · 08/07/2017 01:25

It's not to my taste at all but it's nice enough. I recently met a Noelia (she's Spanish) and it's really grown on me.

Starfairylights · 08/07/2017 01:34

I like it

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 08/07/2017 01:38

Never heard of it but it's quite nice. I don't love it but I don't dislkike it either.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 08/07/2017 01:54

Pretty name.

SuperBeagle · 08/07/2017 01:57

I don't like it.

But then I don't like Ellie or names with that "ana" sound in them, so no surprise.

Sophronia · 08/07/2017 02:03

It's a bit too frilly/princessy sounding for me

OkPedro · 08/07/2017 02:10

How do you pronounce it boo?
I'd pronounce it Elayna, I'm assuming you'll pronounce it ElaynEA. Hope that makes sense BlushGrin

SpicyBeanzy · 08/07/2017 02:10

Lovely

BooBeaBow · 08/07/2017 02:19

I pronounce it El - ee - ar - nah

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 08/07/2017 02:21

I'd pronounce it Elayna

You can see the "I" in there, right? Which automatically rules out "Elayna".

I pronounce it El - ee - ar - nah

That's how I pronounce it too (and I'd never seen or heard of it before).

OkPedro · 08/07/2017 02:29

I can't see the "ar" in that name, can you whattodo? I would pronounce it E Lay Na
There's no R sound

BooBeaBow · 08/07/2017 02:31

Ana makes an arnah sound... think Juliana, etc.

I know one! It's a lovely name

They called her Eliana Banana as a baby as a hint to everyone of how to pronounce it after some early confusion

BooBeaBow · 08/07/2017 02:33

Where are you getting the lay bit from? Confused anyway, it's a Hebrew name pronounced the way I said Grin

OP posts:
WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 08/07/2017 02:34

See OP's subsequent posts. Plus: there's an "I" in there.

lizzieoak · 08/07/2017 03:22

I know a lovely Eliana (pronounced by non-British Jews as Ellie-ahna). Very pretty.

OkPedro · 08/07/2017 03:25

Where are you getting the "ar" or "r" bit from 😂

I'm Irish, we have our own "English" language

Marcipex · 08/07/2017 03:36

It's pretty, but there are so many Ellies around.

Jooni · 08/07/2017 06:16

It's fine, but not my taste at all really. It's a bit frilly with the -ana ending and just seems like yet another twist on Ella/Ellie.

friedegs · 08/07/2017 06:38

It's beautiful. I know a teen one and I've never heard anyone call her Ellie.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 08/07/2017 06:41

Its ok, I know an Elia which I prefer.

Soslowmo · 08/07/2017 06:49

I know a couple of Elianas - lovely name.
