Opinions on the name Eliana are needed!! I think it's gorgeous, but would like some input! Thanks x

Don't like it. Too much of a mouthful.

I know an Iranian-British family with an Eliana. They pronounce it "El-i-AH-na" (no 'ar' presumably because they're northern!)

(I also know a baby with the same name but starting with a capital 'i' which I think always looks odd written down - as though it starts with two 'L's. - Iliana.

Not too keen. I can't bear any more 'Ellie' names and this one literally starts with the sound 'ellie'. It also sounds ever so slightly made up, like frilling up the name Ellie by sticking Ana on the end? But I guess I can see how it's quite pretty.

I prefer Eleanor.

Ah and ar make the same sound in a lot of accents.
