Why is this name hated so much?

Darren seems to be a MN hatred and I was wondering why? I wasn't around in the 70s so that might be why

Darren and Jason were the Jayden/Kayden/Brayden of the 70s and early 80s.

Ugh yes. Dazza, Jase and their mate Wayne.

My DH Darren is a senior manager in a healthcare profession in the NHS. He can regularly be found looking after dying patients in very emotional circumstances. I don't think his name has any bearing on his qualities, it just happened to be the name his fairly young parents chose in the early 1970s. Means nowt.
