Which name... DPs favourite or mine?

So the names in question are:

Annie or Keira

It will definitely be one of these two and we won't be having a middle name. Spelling will be as written above and both sound equally good with our last name. Just looking for votes please. We both like each other's choice and would be happy with either but just struggling to call it.

We don't want to wait until her arrival to decide on a name either.

Thank you, appreciate your help.

Compromise and go for Anna? Grin
They're both lovely names. Have you looked at their meanings to see if that sways your opinion?

kmini · 15/05/2017 06:02

Annie if you want something classic and feminine, Keira, pretty and feminine. Personally prefer Annie, it's a lovely name

NormaSmuff · 15/05/2017 06:16

What about KerryAnne?

NormaSmuff · 15/05/2017 06:17

otherwise Anna?

Squishedstrawberry4 · 15/05/2017 06:23

There's always Cara Connie or Clara - which are classic names like Annie.

Kiera is more contemporary I guess.

Squishedstrawberry4 · 15/05/2017 06:24

Katie

DameSquashalot · 15/05/2017 06:30

I love both, but I prefer Keira.

DD was nearly Keira, but then a very close friend named her baby Keira we changed our minds.

Melstarrynight · 15/05/2017 06:32

Annie

Elbi · 15/05/2017 11:02

I appear to be in the minority but I prefer Keira!

OhDearToby · 15/05/2017 11:28

Definitely Annie. I don't like kiera at all.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 15/05/2017 11:31

Keira.

I agree with a pp that Annie is a bit Granny.

Anna and Anne are nice though.

deadringer · 15/05/2017 11:34

Don't like Annie at all. Anna is nicer IMO. Don't like Keira much either but it gets my vote between the two.

goldenrachita · 15/05/2017 11:35

Both are good. Personally, I'd chose Annie as it's more classic. I like Anna or Anne shorted to Annie even better, as I'm a bit of a stickler for 'proper' names and it would give her a grown-up option. Annie is sweet for a little girl though.

QuietNameChange · 15/05/2017 11:45

If we're being really honest OP... I'd name her Anna or Anne as well. Annie is really lovely but it is imo a nickname.

CotswoldStrife · 15/05/2017 11:45

Keira - I'm not a fan of older names as being older myself, it reminds me of relatives (or Annie's song).

Babykoala1 · 15/05/2017 11:46

Keira 100%

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/05/2017 12:06

Definitely Annie.

MeadowDream · 15/05/2017 12:08

Another vote for Annie here. Such a lovely name

BreezyThursday · 15/05/2017 12:08

Of the two, Annie. More than anything because of the constant spelling issues Keira is bound to bring on.

MyKingdomForBrie · 15/05/2017 12:10

what about Kerryanne

Dear god that's hideous.

Annie gets my vote.

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 15/05/2017 12:22

Annie. And love Anna with nn Annie

purplecoathanger · 15/05/2017 14:09

I love Anna, it sounds so much more sophisticated than Annie.

ColourfulOrangex · 15/05/2017 17:53

Keira

spacecowboy99 · 15/05/2017 18:07

Keira for me.

I like Anna/Anne but not Annie. Just me think of the annoying girl from the musical.

Whatsinaname9 · 15/05/2017 19:44

Annie - 59 votes
Keira - 21 votes

(If I've added correctly which I probably haven't)

I won't lie, I'm a little gutted as I've loved the name for years and had envisaged myself using it, but I love the name Annie too. Husband is delighted he has won Grin
