Hi, our little boy is due in 5 weeks.
Which name do you prefer? No point in commenting if you're just going to be nasty/say neither.
Thank you.

Justus! :)

SaltySalt · 30/04/2017 15:57

Is Justus pronounced just us? Or justice?

GreatFuckability · 30/04/2017 16:03

I prefer Justus.

Ooh Justus, never heard that name before, but I very much like it !

DramaAlpaca · 30/04/2017 17:00

Jadon

ScarletSienna · 30/04/2017 17:21

How would you pronounce them?
Jadon isn't a well known biblical name so I think that link would be lost. I dislike the name Jaydon so how it's pronounced would make a difference to me.
Justus is awful IMO. I don't alike that it looks like two words without a space and I'm not keen on how it sounds whichever pronounciation I try.

So tentatively, Jadon.

GivenupontheGarden · 30/04/2017 17:26

Justus for me.

GraceBlish · 30/04/2017 17:53

Justus but only because of the popularity of Jadon now.

PodgeBod · 30/04/2017 18:03

I really like Justus. I think Jadon would be seen as trying to put your own spin on Jayden, unfortunately, as it's not a well known biblical figure.

melonribena · 30/04/2017 18:12

I like Jadon. I like jay for short as well.

Lemondrop09 · 30/04/2017 18:27

Out of the two Jadon.

I don't like the repeat of the 'us' 'us' sound in Justus. To me it all sounds too much like justice or perhaps Justin gone a bit wrong.

Goingtobeawesome · 30/04/2017 18:29

Justus sounds like a prime example for teasing

SumAndSubstance · 30/04/2017 19:12

I think Justus is very cool. I like Jadon too, but I'm afraid I do think it has been a bit spoilt by the 'Jaydon' explosion.

CaulkheadNorth · 30/04/2017 19:18

Justus in the bible is more commonly known as Joseph outside of the Coptic church. Are you U.K. based or somewhere where Orthodox names are more common?

Frazzled2207 · 30/04/2017 19:24

Jadon
Is it pronounced like jaydon? Actually prefer the jadon spelling, the y looks wrong to me.

TipBoov · 30/04/2017 19:26

I know an adult Justus, I think it's a lovely name.

BuzzKillington · 30/04/2017 19:30

They're both dreadful.

ArseyTussle · 30/04/2017 19:30

Can you give us a bit of background, OP? Which has the nicest meaning for you? I'm not a fan of popular names so I'd avoid Jadon because of the Jayden/Hayden/Caden aspect.
If Justus is pronounced clearly I don't think there'd be a 'justice' confusion.

nevernotstruggling · 30/04/2017 19:35

Oh I much prefer the biblical spelling of Jadon! Phonetically it works so much better than Jayden.

Jadon is great. Justus is really strong but will be heard as Justice.

Sandsnake · 30/04/2017 19:41

I tend to like biblical names but am really not a fan of Justus, sorry. So it's a Jadon for me, though agree with pps that Jayden is far more popular, so you may get frustrated with misspellings quite a lot.

Gallavich · 30/04/2017 19:43

Justus- just us/justice
Jadon is ok

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 30/04/2017 19:53

I prefer Justus but then my son's name is Justice Grin

Mrsknackered · 30/04/2017 20:04

I like Justus Smile

Ontopofthesunset · 30/04/2017 20:20

I prefer Justus, but think it has the potential to be misheard and misspelt a lot - just us/just as/justice.
