Hazel's the only one I like - the others are all very old lady names!

Thingymaboob · 23/04/2017 22:23

Freda and Audrey are nice

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2017 22:26

Hazel, Sylvia, Audrey, Ada and Dorothy are just about OK.

The rest just sound dreary and old fashioned to me.

bridgetreilly · 23/04/2017 22:28

I like:
Nancy
Sylvia
Audrey
Joan
Ada
Betty
Ida

Mummamayhem · 23/04/2017 22:30

I have one a DD with one of these names.....also I adore June! I think it's definitely due a revival.

Jean will come back I think, it's a cool name. Can I add Judy to your old lady list.

Mistletoekids · 23/04/2017 22:31

Audrey is ok

Not keen on any of the others sorry

Mothervulva · 23/04/2017 22:33

I've met baby Rita, Hazel, Nancy and Sylvia (and I sometimes call my DD2 Betty).

I actually really like Vera.

Yika · 23/04/2017 22:35

Love the name Marion.

FeedTheSharkAndItWIllBite · 23/04/2017 22:38

Sophronia · 23/04/2017 22:44

Yes Judy fits well with the other names! I know babies / young children called Nancy, Frida, Ada, Dorothy and Sylvie.

Nancy - love it, dh vetoed for my dd (11)
Sylvia - prefer Sylvie
Freda - love it
Betty - know a 5 yo
Dorothy - love Dotty

Don't like any of the others.

MissJSays · 23/04/2017 22:46

I love Irene! It's my mum and my nana's name so special to me.
Also know a 2 yr old Nancy.
I think Ada will probably come back and think June is really pretty.

twoforthepriceofone22 · 23/04/2017 22:49

I like Hazel, Sylvia and Peggy. How about Dorothea instead of Dorothy?

Rosieroundabouts · 23/04/2017 22:51

My favourite is Rita. Also like Vera, Nancy and Dorothy.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/04/2017 23:08

I like.
Irene
Freda (My nans name, pn Free-da)
Rita (Very chic)
Hazel
Dorothy.
I like Sylvie but not Sylvia.
Not keen on the others.

Helloandgoodnight · 23/04/2017 23:10

They're all really bad.

CrazyPrepared · 23/04/2017 23:18

Love Dorothy but would shorten it to Dotty, I also like Betty but not keen on the others, I can't see them making a comeback anytime soon.

Buntysoven · 24/04/2017 00:19

I love
Nancy (biased)
Hazel
Sylvia
Dorothy
And Frieda with an i.
Lovely list OP. The one name I'd add is Ada.

Buntysoven · 24/04/2017 00:20

Whoops! Missed that it's there!

SuperBeagle · 24/04/2017 00:23

Hazel and Frida (this spelling) are the only two I like. Joan works as a middle name but not as a first.

The rest are so old and grim.

SpreadYourHappiness · 24/04/2017 00:33

I like Hazel, but I think the rest are really old and frumpy.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/04/2017 00:37

Ida and Dorothy were my gran's middle names! She hated them but I really like Dorothy. I think Ida is the only one there that I dislike.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 24/04/2017 00:45

The only one I'd like to be called myself is Sylvia (nn Sylvie) which I think is very pretty.

JessieDoops · 24/04/2017 00:50

I love Ada, and I know a very cute little Peggy

CakeRattleandRoll · 24/04/2017 08:42

TBH, I wouldn't be especially surprised to meet a baby called any of these! I really like:
Nancy
Audrey
Sylvia
Peggy (as a nn for Margaret)
