I love Nancy, ada & Hazel. Lovely.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/04/2017 09:06

Love Frieda.
I like Rita, Sylvia, Jean, Marion, and Ida.

TempsPerdu · 24/04/2017 14:05

Love Hazel, like Nancy, Sylvia and Freda, although I'm not keen on this spelling - Frida/Frieda are much nicer. June makes a cute middle name but I wouldn't choose it as a first name.

Really dislike Irene, Joan and Ida.

ColourfulOrangex · 24/04/2017 14:40

I like Rita and Hazel and am using Jean as my daughters middle name when she arrives as it was my nans name but I don't think I could've used it as a first name, not too sure on the others

BertrandRussell · 24/04/2017 14:43

How about Margaret, shortened to Peggy, or Anne- "shortened" to Nancy? That gives her lots of options.

And I don't like June, but Jane is lovely.

ShotsFired · 24/04/2017 14:45

Every single person I know/knew with one of those names on the list is at least 60, if not dead.

So they are either old(er) lady names; or ripe for a comeback. I know I wouldn't saddle a child with any of them when there are a lot more timeless names about.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 24/04/2017 14:49

I think Hazel, Peggy, Sylvia and Audrey are fine. I know a couple of Hazels in their 30/40s. There are 2 Peggy's in DS school (primary). Sylvia and Audrey are both "classic" rather than "old/dated" to me.
The rest, meh.

MaroonPencil · 24/04/2017 14:50

I love Audrey, it rocks.

I have no problem with most of them but Audrey is the best. Out of all of them the only one i am not that keen on is Irene, unless it's pronounced Eye -Ree-Nee, which nobody would nowadays.

WowserBowser · 24/04/2017 14:53

It's a nice list.

Audrey is one of my favourite names.

Also like Rita. Jean i think is a great middle name.

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 24/04/2017 15:07

Love Sylvia!

Nancy and Hazel are nice.

Not fussed on the rest....

AliceKlar · 24/04/2017 16:25

It sounds like the roll call at our WI.

Hazel, Nancy and Dorothy are ok but not mad about the rest. There are nice old lady names but I don't like many on your list.

Pemba · 24/04/2017 17:47

I like Sylvia, Audrey, Ida and Dorothy, and quite like Marion (although not as nice as Marianne).

Some of them are back already aren't they? Like Nancy and Audrey.

Puremince · 24/04/2017 18:40

Hazel, Nancy, Dorothy and Audrey are the best on your list.

Bloosh · 24/04/2017 18:41
