baby names fo no4

Hi all,

I am 17 weeks pregnant with no4 and i have just got dh to start talking about names.
For a boy it must be Scottish as i made dh leave his native land to move back to Brighton when i got pregnant with dd1 so the names that we have on our list are

Hector Raymond
Gregor Raymond

I am trying to get Otis and Cosmo added to this list too.

For a girl we are currently considering Dorothea - which i love - with the nn Dottie, she could use Thea when older for something more elegant. Our girls list at the moment is

Dorothea Violet
Enid Violet
Juniper Violet
Alma Violet
Magnolia (Maggie) Violet
Bess Violet
Nora/h Violet
Winifred Violet
Sally Violet
Miriam Violet

there are a few more but i have forgotton!
As you can see we are using Violet as a mn after my great grandmother, we will not use it as a first name though as there are loads about in my area.

My other 3 children are dd1 Iris, dd2 Pearl and ds Eli, so i want something that will not clash horribly with these.

I would love some opinions, or suggestions, though mn are non-negotiable.

Thanks
Clara

I like Hector, but not Bess cause I'd get confused when you called her. And get on with some work!

pirategirl · 09/03/2007 11:21

oh, I love Miriam - DH vetoed it for the BadgerCub but I still love it

Actually I'm on a simple-but-pretty names for girls kick at the moment and some of yours are ace - Alma, Nora and Sally especially.

Magnolia I just couldn't do - although Maggie is nice I'd use Margaret.

Enid · 09/03/2007 11:31

Enid

tortoiseSHELL · 09/03/2007 11:31

Miriam is the BEST girl's name!

Enid · 09/03/2007 11:32

love Sally

what about Polly

Coffee later? Just found out Lucy (dp's cousin) is pg again! That'll be 3 in 3yrs. Think I'll have to play catch up.

singersgirl · 09/03/2007 11:47

I like Bess, Thea and Dot/Dotty. Also like Nell, and was quite keen on Elsie if DS2 had been a girl.

How about Edith as well as Enid? I guess Dolly is too twee.

itsazoohere · 09/03/2007 11:47

Are you finding out sex of new one? I like Kitty, but my dd2 really likes Kitty Blue for your a name, which I still reckon sounds like a porn star.

MrsBadger · 09/03/2007 11:49

Chloë?

MrsBadger · 09/03/2007 11:50

wow itsazoo- your dps family are amazingly fertile - she is still really young is she not. Whens it due then - is she hoping to get her Matilda? I will try later - i have a feeling i am going to spend all day out the house and do NOTHING at all - oh well.
singersgirl - my friend has claimed Nell for her next one adn my cousin has a dd Elsie and i love that name - damn her to hell! I quite like Dolly put prefer Dottie, i would have no objection to her calling herself Dolly if she wanted to.

Miaou · 09/03/2007 12:00

For a boy, I like Gregor and Otis

For a girl, I lke Dorothea, Norah and Miriam

Lovely names!

catkin555 · 09/03/2007 22:22

We loved Norah and also Martha and Isla for girls. Violet is beautiful!

Think baby (due in summer)is boy and DH was keen to go for Scottish name (our surname is very Scottish although neither of us are!) so we've chosen Callan Elliot James.

Our dog is called Hector! That's a great name too!

Mumblesmummy · 20/01/2008 17:16

mom2latinoboys · 20/01/2008 17:42
