Sabrina. It's on my list with Serena and Sophie/ Sophia for S names.

smilingsarahb · 02/04/2017 12:53

I love both but Soraya is one of my favourite names ever.

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 02/04/2017 12:55

I prefer Sabine to Sabrina.

Never heard of Soraya, I'd pronounce it like Sore Ayer, is that right?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/04/2017 13:02

Sabrina (Bri).

WillowGreen · 02/04/2017 13:05

Really I didn't think it was that unusual. It is pronounced Sur-raya.

Both lovely, I also like Seren, Soren and Samara

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 02/04/2017 13:30

I think both are perfectly fine.

But I also prefer Sabine to Sabrina (and also to Soraya).

Do you like Saskia?

Gunpowder · 02/04/2017 13:33

Definitely Sabrina

flummoxedworried · 02/04/2017 13:33

I had never heard of Soraya either. I prefer Sabrina of the two.

harderandharder2breathe · 02/04/2017 15:26

Soraya

There's a famous ice skater called Suraya Bonaly, the only skater male or female to land a backflip on one foot, she's badass

Jooni · 02/04/2017 15:56

I prefer Soraya, but yes to Sabine/Sabina!

Sophronia · 02/04/2017 16:04

Sabrina. Soraya makes me think of psoriasis.

crapfatbanana · 02/04/2017 16:14

Sabrina. I like Sarita too.

Sunshineandlaughter · 02/04/2017 16:14

Sabrina - never heard the other one

LokisSister · 02/04/2017 17:11

My best friend at primary school was called Soriya, we called her Ria. Lovely name, never met another one.

Cellardoor23 · 02/04/2017 18:14

My name is one of the ones from your list. I have never met another one. I really like the name Serena as well.

MrsMeeseeks · 02/04/2017 19:14

They are both beautiful.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 02/04/2017 19:15

Soraya

daisypond · 02/04/2017 20:02

Soraya is a Muslim name, to me. I know a few and they're all Muslim. It's a lovely name. Sabrina is nice too, but I do think "teenage witch".

JDelanysCleanHorse · 02/04/2017 20:15

Love both names.

How about Sorsha? (Not sure of the spelling thoughBlush)

THirdEeye · 02/04/2017 20:34

Sabrina is nice but Soraya definitely far nicer. The meaning of it is beautiful, as it's name based upon the brightest stars in the sky (the seven sisters).

I know of some girls named this and they spelled their name a little differently

Sureya/suraya.

MaidenMotherCrone · 02/04/2017 20:44

I know a Soraya, she's Iranian, it's pronounced Sor-eye-a. It's a beautiful name.

Singingforsanity · 02/04/2017 22:08

I prefer Sabrina, partly due to the psoriasis thing, but I just think it sounds nice, happy and bright. I love Serena too. How about Sumeya?

AliceKlar · 02/04/2017 22:29

All the Soraya's I've come across in school so far are Muslim, Jewish or Iranian. It's a gorgeous name imo.

WillowGreen · 02/04/2017 22:30

They are both Persian names rather than specifically Muslim. Most people have no idea how to pronounce DP's name so we wanted to choose a name that reflects her heritage that is easy for people to pronounce.

I love them both and really can't decide. People seem to either love or hate Soraya which is interesting. I looked up Suraya Bonaly she is badass. Some of my less pleasant relatives would probably call her psoriasis which i did not think of but we try to avoid them as much as possible,
