Kit is a very much a boy's name to me OP, although of course you should go with what you like.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 04/03/2017 22:47

"WHAT ABOUT PROM, BLAINE??"

I really wouldn't.

Singingforsanity · 04/03/2017 22:49

Sorry, I immediately thought David Blaine too. Blake is fine for a boy, not great for a girl imo. Not a fan of Tate either (sorry) but Kit is nice (although I much prefer Kate).
How about...
Dana
Dawn
Rae
Tara
Zara
Keira/Ciara

empirerecordsrocked · 04/03/2017 22:56

I don't like it at all.

exWifebeginsat40 · 04/03/2017 22:57

Blaine is the name of a sarcastic monorail in a Stephen King book. so there's that.

Pemba · 05/03/2017 05:15

Boy's name, or surname. There are so many great names that are actually female, so why would you? Poor kid.

Chocolatedreamsandtea · 05/03/2017 05:19

Blaise
Bryony
Blythe
Arwen

Blaine makes me think of the dunblaine massacre

Chocolatedreamsandtea · 05/03/2017 05:20

Or Clayrs or Clarissa with kit as a nn

Zoflorabore · 05/03/2017 05:25

When the coke bottles had names on them I couldnt find mine but Blaine was the nearest to it! Change the first letter to E and that was me, was surprised to find Blaine to be honest Grin I prefer Blaire or even Bailey

GenerationYmember · 05/03/2017 07:31

They're all boys name Confused

Maybe, at a push you could get away with using Blake for a girl or using Katherine on birth certificate with Kit as NN.

Oysterbabe · 05/03/2017 09:08

Why do you want to give your DD a boys name?

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 05/03/2017 10:13

Tate at a push if you must - but I agree with PP. They are boys' names. There are plenty of short, strong girls' names.

TheNaze73 · 05/03/2017 10:17

Awful name

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/03/2017 10:37

Blythe is nicer.

whirliebird · 05/03/2017 11:25

I know a girl called Blaine and a boy called Blake. I quite like Blaine x

ToastVacuum · 05/03/2017 11:29

Tate is slang for potato. Kit is something you take to school for P.E.

ToastVacuum · 05/03/2017 11:30

Anyway those are both boys' names as well Confused unless you mean Kit/Kitty as nn for Katherine/Kathleen.

pickle162 · 05/03/2017 11:31

I'm watching a programme at the mo with a little girl called Blake in but with spelling of blayke. I like it, names are very subjective so as long as you like it that's the main thing Smile

insancerre · 05/03/2017 11:37

Blaine is a mad train in the dark tower

WaltzingMaScubadiver · 05/03/2017 12:06

I know a Kit, I have always thought of it as a girls name but she has problems with people mishearing and assuming she's Kate. Not something I would have thought of.

Agree with others: don't really like Blaine, and think it would def be considered a boys name.

RortyCrankle · 05/03/2017 12:26

Hideous but YBYC

Mrsknackered · 06/03/2017 17:30

David, straight away. Sorry.

I do quite like Blake though and Blair (but maybe not now I think Blair Witch and Tony)

Who cares if it's a 'boys' name, I don't think it's quite the same as calling a baby girl Andrew.

I like Blair and Brooke from someone's list further up.

ScarlettFreestone · 06/03/2017 18:12

Well, this is a personal opinion but I think if you are going for gender neutral names there are much nicer choices out there.
