nn possibly Millie.

I like floral names but many are becoming overused. Amaryllis is my second favourite flower (even I think Freesia is too out there)

Yay or nay?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Justmuddlingalong · 22/02/2017 11:59

It's a no from me, sorry.

Etihad · 22/02/2017 12:12

I really liked this, for a middle name (we saw it on a lorry on the way to pick our adopted DD up so I may have been a bit emotional) Thankfully it wasn't an Eddie Stobart!

My DM almost wet herself laughing though when I mentioned it - so we chose something else that I also thinks DM doesn't like

Okite · 22/02/2017 12:14

I know an amaryllis but I think it's a dreadful name, sorry.

Positivitee · 22/02/2017 12:16

A lot nicer than the majority of top 10 names for sure!

TheLivingAsheth · 22/02/2017 12:19

I call my sister Amaryllis sometimes, although it isn't actually her name Grin.

I like it. It can be shortened to Amy as well as Millie. Or Rilla.

BreezyThursday · 22/02/2017 12:21

My initial reaction was Shock but actually I like it, and a good one for nicknames. Definitely prefer it to some of the trendier names currently on trend.

Dutifulppl · 22/02/2017 12:27

Millie sounds better.

MrsGB2225 · 22/02/2017 12:30

Sounds a bit like an STI. Sorry!

MakeItStopNeville · 22/02/2017 12:30

I used to know one. She was a right old cow! That's not very helpful, is it?! Grin

needapaddle · 22/02/2017 12:34

Makes me think of the song that Peter Kay covered for Comic Relief (sorry, still that song will now be stuck in my head all day!)

neonrainbow · 22/02/2017 12:34

I think it's really pretty.

Sistafromanuthamista · 22/02/2017 13:08

I think it's beautiful but I'd probably use it as a md. Something wonderfully glam like Romilly Amaryllis

MiniMaxi · 22/02/2017 16:13

Ooh I like that!

SeveredPixieBits · 22/02/2017 16:17

Too frilly and poncy for my tastes. I also thought of Peter Kay straight away!

ErrolTheDragon · 22/02/2017 16:22

The song it brings to my mine is 'Welcome, Gentry' from Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore ...'Come Amaryllis, come Chloe and Phyllis'Grin- not sure I've come across it IRL. I think its one of those, if you love it go for it names.

picklemepopcorn · 22/02/2017 16:23

No, sorry, too Peter Kay.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 22/02/2017 16:24

No.

It's like a Mills and Boons novel title.

indigo13 · 22/02/2017 16:41

Love it. Also see Araminta. It doest take much for me to prefer any name over the current yawny top 20 but your choice is very nice

FartnissEverbeans · 22/02/2017 17:14

I love it! It's awesome

headake · 22/02/2017 17:19

Amaryllis is my second favourite flower

I like how it means something personal to you. I would have thought Mary for NN. Or Alice (Alyss).

TurkeyDinosaurs · 22/02/2017 17:39

Sounds like Phyllis, so no.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/02/2017 17:39

No, sorry OP.

user99009960546 · 22/02/2017 17:53

Ahhhh forgot all about this name, when I was about 9 it was my favourite and I was conceived I would name my future daughter this.... I didn't

MrsMeeseeks · 22/02/2017 18:24

I love it. Not keen on Millie, though.

CaipirinhasAllRound · 22/02/2017 18:31

Not keen. What about Delphine?
