Hey,

30 weeks and struggling to find a Scottish girls name. Can anyone help??

Lots of names have been taken as we know babies/ friends/ family members with these names. We would also like a name that can be shortened if possible.

Names that we ideally need/ want to avoid:
Ailsa
Heather
Iona
Sheena
Shona
Mairi

Can anyone think of any others?

Thanks!!! X

I would go for Eilidh or Mairead.

DisneySenior · 05/02/2017 20:44

Eilidh is my dds name and we are told quite often how lovely it is and how nice it sounds said with a scottish accent.

BirdyBedtime · 05/02/2017 20:48

Mairead is a lovely name and one we considered for DD (whose name has been mentioned several times here)

soupmaker · 05/02/2017 20:55

My name is on your avoid list Shock

Are you in Scotland? I ask because I have a pal whose DD1 is Eilidh in south east England and constantly has to spell it out and correct pronunciation.

I like

Isla
Morven
Jean (Jeannie)
Flora
