Evangeline or felicity

I am quite a fan of the names felicity and Evangeline however I feel that they are rather outgoing names and I'm not sure which to choose, my DH doesn't seem to be too bothered after we had our first child Alistair please help me with your personal opinions

Well personally Evangeline makes me think of Evangelical Christians and Felicity sounds a bit pretentious... What can they be shortened to???

I prefer felicity, I went to school with one who was fliss.

The 'g' sound in Evangeline puts me off, similar to the g in Imogen

I love Evangeline. Felicity is nice too, but to me it sounds a bit dated.

Evangeline is lovely! Suppose you could shorten Felicity to Lissy?

They don't have to be shortened (speaking as someone with one of these names for their DD!) I have an Evangeline.

Evangeline is a beautiful name. I wouldn't have been brave enough to use it myself (judgy family who would've been a bit about it) but it's really lovely.

Both lovely names but I prefer Evangeline.

Both are nice names. Felicity sounds more classic than Evangeline, which is more unusual. I wouldn't be brave enough to go with Evangeline, but if you are then go for it.
