I am quite a fan of the names felicity and Evangeline however I feel that they are rather outgoing names and I'm not sure which to choose, my DH doesn't seem to be too bothered after we had our first child Alistair please help me with your personal opinions

Lina would be a nice nickname for Evangeline too. I also like Angelina.

Bobochic · 24/01/2017 03:07

Felicity

AML84 · 24/01/2017 04:15

Both are nice, but I love Evie as a nickname, so I'm another vote for Evangeline.

Coey2016 · 24/01/2017 09:17

I love Felicity, one of my favourite girls names. I really like the shortening Fliss.

I like Evangeline too but Felicity edges it for me.

blinkineckmum · 25/01/2017 22:49

Evangeline also makes me think of Christians. Felicity isn't the easiest name to say.

LegArmpits · 25/01/2017 22:51

Evangeline is lovely. Felicity is not. Hth 😎

Evangeline, lovely name. As someone else says, make some think if Colin Firth and nanny McPhee.

phoebe2016 · 26/01/2017 06:55

We are going to call our Daughter (due June) Evangeline, so I have to say, I'm biast on that! Lol. It is such a beautiful name and not very common either Smile

throwingpebbles · 26/01/2017 07:20

Felicity is lovely. Fliss or Flick for short.

PageStillNotFound404 · 27/01/2017 13:17

Evangeline is beautiful, really lovely.

OverScentedFanjo · 27/01/2017 13:23

Felicity means happiness.

It can be shorted to, flick, or, fliss. Or a host of other made up ones.

pilates · 27/01/2017 16:34

I prefer Evangeline

Chatelherault · 27/01/2017 19:59

Felicity.

I love Fliss and Flick.

Frazzled2207 · 27/01/2017 20:03

Evangeline!

(Anyone else think of House of Elliot?) showing my age

Teapot13 · 28/01/2017 00:43

DD2 has an Evangelina in her preschool class. I love it but it gets shortened to Vangie, which I find atrocious.

Definitely prefer either one to Felicity.

DramaAlpaca · 28/01/2017 00:47

I adore Evangeline, but I'd never have got it past DH.

Felicity is nice too.

Mermaid36 · 28/01/2017 00:52

One of our twins is Felicity...she is Tilly-Floss, Fizz, Fliss, Flossy etc

We've never called her Flick though

BackforGood · 28/01/2017 00:58

Really don't like Evangeline. A friend recently called her baby this - I had to put a lot of effort into ensuring my face didn't react when she told me.

It sounds a bit 'Disney mouse' to me. I just really dislike it.
Not that keen on Felicity, but it's far better than Evangeline.

notangelinajolie · 28/01/2017 01:12

Evangeline (Evie) is lovely and although old fashioned it is a name that is very current. I went to very posh grammar school in the 1970's and Felicity was a very common name - I didn't like any of them.

My 3 DD's and I had a girly night in a few weeks ago and one of the conversations was to pick our favourite baby names and youngest DD15 chose Evangeline for a girl and Maximillion for a boy.

notangelinajolie · 28/01/2017 01:19

Yes, to House of Elliot Evangeline! I loved watching that - my Grandma was a very talented tailoress for the 'ladies' in our town in that era and I used to imagine her as Evie.
