Jessica or Jemima?

Jessica by a mile.

Again I have never met a nice Jemma/Gemma and it seems to be a name stuck in about 1982 - at least judging by the sheer number of them in the year above me at school.

What about Gianna? Or Jana?

Jessica is beautiful but so overused. Jemima is pretty but not so pretty as Jessica.
Another vote for the stunning Jessamine!

Jemima. Just asked a US friend about any racist overtones and she said she would not worry about it at all, it has rightly been accepted as a non-politicised name for a while now. No raised eyebrows if today's baby Jemima travelled to the US in the future.

Incidentally, the only Jemima I know has a sister called Jessica .

I can't say that I like either name though I'm afraid. Jemima is a puddleduck. A lovely puddleduck but a puddleduck none the less.

Jessica has the 'sic' (sick) sound in it, which is incredibly off putting to me.

I do like Gemma though, so maybe I'm odd .

I used to know a Jessamy. Would that be any good?

Really love Jemima and Jessamy.
Really dislike Jessica and not that fond of Gemma/Jemma.

Unfortunately I have dn called both Jessica and Gemma. They are both lovely girls and I've never mentioned my dislike of the names (particularly together!) to anyone, it's nothing to do with me, it's what bil liked and it turned out for one of them, what his ex was called (and what dsis was browbeaten into )

Just go with whatever you like the most!

Neither of them seem to be adult names, but would suit a little girl. However, of the two I'd go for Jessica, purely because Jemima would always make me want to say Puddleduck.

I know a lovely Gemma btw.
