Is Kester awful?

My hormone-addled brain can't decide if I love it or hate it. We are stuck for boys names because the only one I really loved I gave to DS1, so if this baby is another boy I'm stumped. DH is a Christopher and I think Kester is a nice nod to that but I'm not sure if it's a bit 'out there'?

Terrible name, sorry!!!

Footle · 25/12/2016 12:33

Kester is a great name. Not a bird name either. Do it !

giraffesCantReachTheirToes · 25/12/2016 12:51

I know of one in real life. Everyone makes a face when they say it. It is routinely mocked.

Footle

The bird name comment was my reaction to somebody suggesting the name Kestrel...

namesstress2323 · 25/12/2016 15:16

what about Chester? or Chesney?

Footle · 25/12/2016 18:01

Sorry horatio, I'd skipped a bit.

Footle

I think we've all done that... :)

I'm still waiting for somebody to love the name Corvus Blush 😂

Hector. I always think that Hamish is a dogs name now.

Jigglealltheway · 25/12/2016 20:34

Such an ugly name.

HopefulHamster · 25/12/2016 20:42

I like it!

Jooni · 26/12/2016 05:14

Not at all. Kester is great!

It may rhyme with fester but then Miles rhymes with piles, Millie/Tilly/Lily rhyme with willy, Hugh rhymes with poo... you get the idea. It's a non-issue IMO.

Hector is nice but I prefer Kester. Don't like Hamish.

I don't think it has an attractive sound and also makes me think of Keister (as in bum). And reminds me of Uncle Fester from the Addams family.

GinIsIn · 26/12/2016 05:58

It's not the best name, it must be said....

chocolatecheesecake · 26/12/2016 07:07

Don't like Kester sorry. But like Keir or Douglas

Newbiecat · 26/12/2016 07:09

Dreadful name, sorry

CheckpointCharlie2 · 26/12/2016 07:11

I know a lovely child called Kester. It's a really nice name IMO and I really love it but that might just be because he's such a nice boy!

buttercup54321 · 29/12/2016 23:27

Kit or Craig?

sarahquilt · 30/12/2016 20:31

It's unlikely to be an ancient Scottish name because there is no K in the Gaelic alphabet.

Aquamarine1029 · 31/12/2016 15:23

Kester the Molestor. Kester Fester. No no No.

auntym · 03/01/2017 20:17

Yes, awful!
