Love Zara but is it associated too much with the shop?

Ditto Margo but is it too old?

Cleo is pretty but feels a bit unfinished

Ramona is very cool but a bit less pretty

Help me choose!

Margo, by far the nicest Grin

Artandco · 01/12/2016 14:14

Margo

Our girls list was Nora or Margo (we have boys)

Artandco · 01/12/2016 14:14

You could have Margo Cleopatra

schrutefarmbeets · 01/12/2016 14:14

I love Ramona and Margot but always with a T. Margo looks unfinished to me.

Zara makes me think of the shop too :)

Artandco · 01/12/2016 14:16

Not with a t for me. It doesn't work in more of the world as they say 'mar-got'

Laquila · 01/12/2016 14:18

Love Margo and Ramona. Zara is a lovely name, but it will make a lot of people think of the shop - it's not like it's a terrible association though, so I wouldn't let that put you off! I really like Margot too. Do you like Margarita? Or Thea?

plimsolls · 01/12/2016 14:18

I saw yesterday that Zara is in the Top 50 so probably not too associated with the shop now. I know a couple of Zarah's if that feels more distant from the shop.

I only know Margo spelled Margot. Margo looks wrong to me. I like the name though. Quite popular round my way.

I love love love Ramona. Was on my list. It's so cool.

Also like Cleo. Agree it feels a little unfinished although it probably wouldn't once your daughter was here (if you see what I mean. Once it was her name, it would feel totally complete I think)

GinAndTeaForMe · 01/12/2016 14:20

Cleo is a beautiful name.

DramaAlpaca · 01/12/2016 14:22

I love Zara & Cleo.

Margo is a bit too old lady for me.

Ramona is OK, but I prefer the others.

I don't think of the shop with Zara, it reminds me more of Zara Phillips the queen's granddaughter.

You could call her Cleo but put Cleopatra on the birth cert Grin

EverySongbirdSays · 01/12/2016 14:23

I like them all but probably wouldn't use Ramona. Margot with a t, definitely.

  1. Margot
  2. Cleo (but I think I'd go for the Irish Cliona if it was me)
  3. Zara
  4. Ramona
EllenDegenerate · 01/12/2016 14:32

Cleopa nn Cleo.

user1471950254 · 01/12/2016 14:38

Cleo is very pretty

TheWayYouLookTonight · 01/12/2016 14:39

This. Thanks EverySongbirdSays Grin

'Margo' does look really wrong without the t. And you/she would spend all your time correcting the spelling if you didn't spell it Margot.

HardcoreLadyType · 01/12/2016 14:54

I love Ramona, of your choices.

I have a friend called Margo, with that spelling. She is from a Northern European country, and that is the usual spelling there. Margot is the French spelling.

I don't like Zara much. It's a bit dated. I don't think the shop matters, though.

Cleo is a name in its own right. No need to call her Cleopatra. But you could do, if it makes it sound more like a complete name to you.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 01/12/2016 14:58

Margo(t) is the best
Ramona would be my next choice
Zara (shop, plus it's more mainstream than your others)
Cleo (car)

KlingybunFistelvase · 01/12/2016 15:04

I like them all except Ramona and would spell Margot with a t.

CakeRattleandRoll · 01/12/2016 16:47

My favourite is Margot, but spelt like that.

SausageSoda · 01/12/2016 17:33

My favourite is Margot - spelt that way rather than Margo.

Really dislike Zara.

Cleo and Ramona are OK.

Sophronia · 01/12/2016 19:57

Love Ramona and like Zara

Catgirl83 · 01/12/2016 20:00

Margo (with a t) is a beautiful, graceful name. Cleo is a cat's name. I don't like Zara or Ramona.

Gruffalosfriend · 02/12/2016 08:44

I like Zara and Margo.

Margot is pronounced with a t, Mar-got, in most countries other than France.

10Betty10 · 05/12/2016 18:21

Adore Ramona. I feel like it is the name of a really kick ass woman.

(I wanted it, however, my mother can't pronounce her letter 'r' properly. It is infinitely less bad ass when said in a Johnathan Ross request manner)

firawla · 05/12/2016 18:27

I love Zara - the shop thing wouldn't bother me!

Serowe72 · 05/12/2016 18:39

Cleo sounds like a atrippers name. Or a cat!
Ramona is a great name. Not too popular either

JingleBellCock · 05/12/2016 18:41

Cleopatra nn Cleo is divine. I wish I'd been brave enough with my DD Grin.

Zara is pretty and I don't think necessarily associated with the shop.

Ramona is lovely, too.

Not keen on Margo. Has a prissy, old lady feel to it.
