Love Zara but is it associated too much with the shop?

Ditto Margo but is it too old?

Cleo is pretty but feels a bit unfinished

Ramona is very cool but a bit less pretty

Help me choose!

Margo without the T looks too much like Mango to me.

But with a T is the best of your choices.

Diel · 05/12/2016 18:52

I bloody love the name Ramona! It's exotic, strong and beautiful!

ExcellentWorkThereMary · 05/12/2016 19:06

Margo without the t looks like mango to me. I love love love Ramona!!

Nospringflower · 05/12/2016 19:09

I don't get people on here's love for Margo - I think it's horrible and 70s.

Out of your other choices Cleo and Zara are fine whereas Ramona is a bit spanish to me (not sure if it is).

Rosaaa · 09/12/2016 05:18

My favourite is Zara, though I also think of the shop.

Idodo · 09/12/2016 06:39

Don't mind Cleo, don't like the others at all. I can't imagine a young girl called Margo. It's awful. I also don't like Mary, Margaret or Maggie. Just not attractive names and old fashioned.

HearTheThunderRoar · 09/12/2016 06:54

I know three 17yo Margots, lovely name in my opinion. That would be my pick.

I also like Ramona.

I'm not keen on Cleo, makes me think of the mermaid from H20 Just Add Water (an old popular tween TV show that my DD use to love).

I feel indifferent about Zara.

throwingpebbles · 09/12/2016 07:17

Margo would look like you couldn't spell Margot properly

Zara and Cleo are lovely.
I kind of like Ramona

mudandmayhem01 · 09/12/2016 07:21

Love Ramona, I think it is traditionally an Arabic name but crosses over very well into English. Zara is similar very popular with British asian and white British families alike.

MadameJosephine · 09/12/2016 07:30

I know margot is always popular on Mumsnet but I really, really don't like it.

Ramona on the other hand is an awesome name. I've only ever known one ramona and she suited it very much. She was a wonderful woman, strong, clever, independent.

Vinegartitsvera · 09/12/2016 07:35

Marmot is awful. I don't understando why it always gets suggested?

Zara and Ramon a both lovely.

Vinegartitsvera · 09/12/2016 07:35

*Ramona even

Enidblyton1 · 09/12/2016 07:37

Cleo is a nickname for Clementine if you want a longer name - I think that would be lovely.

I'm not so fond of Ramona - a bit harsh sounding.

Like Zara (I wouldn't think of the shop) and Margot (I would have to spell with a t). Or spell it the other way -Margaux.

Vinegartitsvera · 09/12/2016 08:07

*Margo even.

Doilooklikeatourist · 09/12/2016 08:16

I like Margot ,
Zara makes me think of the shop
Ramona , quite like it
Cleo , I like this too
There are 2 Welsh names that this could be short for
Gwenllian , or Llinos ( probably not helpful at all , but I live in Wales and know people who use Llio ( pronounced Cleo ) as a name )

MadisonAvenue · 09/12/2016 08:36

Love Ramona and Zara and Cleo are good names too but I really don't understand why Margo(t) gets so much love.

ViewBasket · 09/12/2016 09:16

Zara - a lovely name, and no I don't think of the shop, my first thought would be Zara Tindall.

Margo - don't like, sorry

Cleo - OK

Ramona - OK but the "moaner" sound isn't great. Marina, Rowena, Rebecca?

FrankAndBeans · 09/12/2016 09:24

And you/she would spend all your time correcting the spelling if you didn't spell it Margot.

I have a Margot. Everyone in existence spells it Margo, I hate it. So frustrating.

namesstress2323 · 09/12/2016 21:07

like margo

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 09/12/2016 21:12

I like them all but Cleo is my favourite. I like it as a full name in its own right and I certainly wouldn't use Cleopatra. That's way too much. Long names aren't always best.

Pluto30 · 09/12/2016 21:21

Hate Margo. The Margo (this spelling) I know is nearing 60, is a violent alcoholic and insists on wearing dirty clogs constantly. So, no.

Cleo is a cat's name.

Zara is fine, but I just don't like it.

I love Ramona.
