It's for a boy - I don't look at it as a girls name, but I know some do, so can we not have it with our surname?

I wouldn't

Soubriquet · 18/11/2016 17:14

So your surname is Rose and his first name is James?

Nothing wrong with that..unless I'm missing something

SaltyMyDear · 18/11/2016 17:14

Is Rose the middle name or the surname?

What people

Soubriquet · 18/11/2016 17:18

James is a boys name

Though I'm guessing your thinking of the Iris James thread aren't you?

As a middle name it didn't really matter

Call your baby James. It's fine

CandleWaxxy · 18/11/2016 17:19

Some people on here... James was also used in the 'favourite unisex names' thread. It just worried me a bit

Mn is a parrellel universe where everyone shops in boden and waitrose and eats "naice" ham

In the real world no one gives a shit where you shop or eat

James is perfectly fine for a boy

CancellyMcChequeface · 18/11/2016 17:21

James is a classic boys' name. Nothing wrong with James Rose at all.

treblejeff · 18/11/2016 17:21

I've never met a girl called James Confused as opposed to the hundreds of male Jameses I've known

James is a boys name. Certainly not unisex despite what some celebs think.

Kidnapped · 18/11/2016 17:22

Rose is just a normal surname. Justin Rose the golfer, Danny Rose the footballer.

And James is not commonly used for girls. At all.

Manumission · 18/11/2016 17:22

I know a James Rose very well. He's never mentioned ever having any negative reaction of any sort.

raisedbyguineapigs · 18/11/2016 17:24

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Livelys daughter is James. That might be why people think it's unisex. They are all wrong. It's a boys nameGrin

FizzBombBathTime · 18/11/2016 17:25

Sorry op I thought rose was going to be a middle name

Yes James rose is a fine name (I have a James myself 🙂)

Oliversmumsarmy · 18/11/2016 17:26

Why would you call a girl Jim

Manumission · 18/11/2016 17:27

To be modish Hmm
