If you have or know a Gage, Gavin or Garrett...

My oldest is Hattie Juniper. My youngest is Cleo Annika. Hattie and Cleo are bright and vivacious names. Hattie was to be Kate Annabelle. She came out with a head of dark red hair and I gave in to my ultimate guilty pleasure and named her Hattie. Haven't regretted it once. We have three names in mind, Charlie Desmond, Mabel Noelle and Gage/Gavin/Garrett Theodore. I can't think of anything else at the moment that we like. Iris James is something we like for a girl too, I guess. But, what I really want is opinions on Gage, Gavin and Garrett. Do you know any?
What are they like? Do you like the name?

I know a Gavin, he is about 45. I like Gage.

Gavin is the name of a boy racer who wears track suits, a Burberry baseball cap (fake), 3 sovereign rings and drives a souped up Vauxhall corsa with a Paul Walker tribute sticker in the back window.

I have a horse called Gage. It's an ancient English word for 'Challenge' - like throwing down the gauntlet. Beware - my horse has lived up to his name!! 😄

I like Gage too. 😄

I know a Gavin, he's probably 23/24. He's not quite as HipHop describes!!
Garrett reminds me of Twilight, never heard of Gage.

I know 3 Gavins. 2 are 45ish and very nice. One is 30 ish, also very nice. All very outdoorsy, but that's the circles I move in. I can't imagine any of them wearing a baseball cap, sovereign rings etc

Don't know any but prefer Gage over Gavin and dislike Garrett. I think Gage is lovely for any age and Gavin just doesn't seem to flow so nicely to me.

Glad about the outdoorsy thing! We go on hikes often.

Gage is very "modern" sounding but kind of cool. Gavin and Garrett are both very dated sounding names to me.

The only Gavin I know is about 40 and has a mullet.

Mabel is awful, though much loved on MN for some inexplicable reason, and really doesn't go with your other DDs names. They have cool funky names, she would have a frumpy dreary name.

Don't like any of them. My ex husband was Gavin and always got 'Gav' which is dreadful (and so was he but I can't blame his name for that) , and the other two aren't really names...

Don't use Gage if you have any Scottish connections! A Gadge is a shortened form of gadgie - which is basically an uneducated hooligan/criminal.
If you are pronouncing it to rhyme with cage then fair enough.
I would still think though!

Gavin is a 90s boy racer. Similar to Kevin, Gary, Grant, Terry, Derek and Dave.
