eatsleephockeyrepeat · 26/10/2016 16:31

Ellis Bentley?

Elbi · 26/10/2016 17:10

I like Elton and my hormones are perfectly stable... I think.

raviolidreaming · 26/10/2016 18:49

I like Elton!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/10/2016 19:49

MotherDuck, how about Elton Benedict ?

Raines100 · 26/10/2016 20:27

I'm amazed nobody's said Elton Bentley makes them think of Ben Elton. It does me...

Sophronia · 26/10/2016 22:18

I prefer Alton to Elton

Joinourclub · 26/10/2016 22:24

Charles Elton Bentley sounds great

minipie · 26/10/2016 22:32

Elton Bentley sounds like a knock off Elvis Presley to me, sorry.

Dominic? Nathaniel? both shortenable but I like the short versions.

If you want something not likely to be shortened...
Hal
Gus
Leo
Felix

Chinlo · 26/10/2016 22:35

Er, no. I think you're the only person to have made that leap!

Grin hahaha definitely!

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/10/2016 22:36

Elton Bentley and his band Mockodile Rock appearing at your local Butlins singing all the hits.

Chinlo · 26/10/2016 22:38

I'm amazed nobody's said Elton Bentley makes them think of Ben Elton

They have.

MotherDuck, how about Elton Benedict?

Bentley is her surname!!

Elton Bentley sounds like a knock off Elvis Presley to me, sorry

I really think some mumsnetters can make any name remind them of any other name. It's like 6 degrees of separation on this forum.

Ham69 · 26/10/2016 22:54

I know where you're coming from OP but not sure it quite works. Please not another Thomas though!
If you want something a bit different how about Cassius Bentley? Sounds fine to me!

Much prefer Thomas. I don't like Elton at all and it doesn't flow with your surname, IMO

Ellieboolou27 · 26/10/2016 23:44

Elton is bent is a possible nn so I'd avoid at all costs

gunting · 26/10/2016 23:54

Elton.... please no.

BeastofCraggyIsland · 27/10/2016 00:14

Elton Bentley doesn't really go all that well, it's too rhymey and doesn't flow. I wouldn't say Elton was exactly posh either; it makes me think of Clueless with the rich Beverly Hills '90s kids all being named after singers - Cher, Dionne, Elton etc. Thomas Bentley sounds a lot nicer, and actually a lot more 'posh' if that's what you're going for.
