Noa for a girl? I personally love it but the hubby isn't sure. He likes it though.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Haffdonga · 21/10/2016 13:37

It's a No - a from me.

Oysterbabe · 21/10/2016 13:59

😕
Presumably it's pronounced exactly the same as Noah? When introducing herself everyone will just think she has a boys name.

Meadows76 · 21/10/2016 14:00

No. it's a boys name. It's also incorrectly spelt.

mycatstares · 21/10/2016 14:00

It looks like you've started to write a name then got distracted and didn't finish it.

DramaInPyjamas · 21/10/2016 14:01

I love the name Noah but Noa is terrible.

LunaLoveg00d · 21/10/2016 14:02

Noa is a perfume brand I think. Noah is a boys name.

Naomi is a great choice of girls name.

Vixxfacee · 21/10/2016 14:03

I like it.

MoveItMoveItMoveIt · 21/10/2016 14:04

*Noah.

HTH.

nemno · 21/10/2016 14:04

I love it but had never heard of it before watching an Israeli drama .

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 21/10/2016 14:06

I really like it. My friend's little girl is called Noa... she is Isreali/Jewish...

MidnightSheep · 21/10/2016 14:07

It is a gorgeous name. I'd pronounce it No -AH for a girl as this is how my Norwegian/Israeli cousin pronounces it.

For a boy I'd say NO-ah

I really like it. I thought about it for dd3 but my husband didn't like it at all.

tibbawyrots · 21/10/2016 15:11

lovely name (Hebrew origin) but you'll probably have people spell/say it incorrectly

appalachianwalzing · 21/10/2016 15:14

I know it as an Israeli girls name because I know one, but I think it would be a struggle in the UK because of the popularity of Noah as a boys name. Which is a shame, it's nice, but I think it would require too much explaining.

pugsake · 21/10/2016 15:21

I like it. Im not a good judge though as my family has some very "out there" names. Think sports cars and weather forecasts Grin

Purplebluebird · 21/10/2016 15:23

Noa/Noah is a boy name. Not for girls. Would be like calling a girl James, imo.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 21/10/2016 15:28

No. She'll spend the rest of her life spelling it and explaining it.

SorenaJ · 21/10/2016 17:35

I like it.

serin · 21/10/2016 17:42

Just because it's not a commonly heard name in the UK does not mean it isn't a perfectly valid girls name elsewhere.

If you like it OP then go for it.

(Mind you I did instantly think of Norfolk Ornithologist's Association!! which DH is a member of).

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/10/2016 17:42

No.

Too many boy Noah's.

SirChenjin · 21/10/2016 17:46

If you have Israeli or Jewish heritage then go for it - otherwise it's a boys name that you've misspelled.

Brankolium · 21/10/2016 17:47

It is a girls' name though, just not one we hear a lot.

I really like it though, much more than Noah for a boy. The only Noa I know isn't Israeli and has no problems with it here.
