So for some reason I've convinced myself that DD2's name should begin with M.

Madelaine would be my first choice but DH hates it.

Marie
Matilda
Mia
Maia
Mila
Mary

Are possible contenders but none seem quite right. Which is the best and any other ideas? Middle name will probably be Eloise.

Of your list I prefer Matilda

How about Martha? Or Millie? Maisie?

I love Mary! It's my secret favourite name for a future DD (not that I'm pregnant or even ttc Blush).

I also like Margot, Margaret and Megan.

Margaret is a good name, sadly underused.

FoundFreedom · 14/09/2016 21:20

Madison Eloise is nice. Would he go for that?

What is it about the Madelaine he doesn't like?

waitinglistquery · 14/09/2016 21:23

Mabel?
Martha?

BettyOBarley · 14/09/2016 21:24

Marcie?

Although not sure it goes with Eloise but I like the name

CinderellaFant · 14/09/2016 21:25

Madelaine? Like Mad Elaine? Or Madeline?

devilinmyshoes · 14/09/2016 21:29

Mariella? It's 'short' for Maria.

EllenDegenerate · 14/09/2016 21:29

Marielle

loulalou · 14/09/2016 21:31

MessyBun247 · 14/09/2016 21:31

Miriam
Marnie

Jellybluebean · 14/09/2016 22:05

It's so hard naming babies! I like Marianne but don't like the shortening to Mari as as family member is called this. DH likes Mabel but a friends dog is called this which puts me off. He also loves Myla but the underwear shop puts me off. Miriam is nice but can't quite picture it for a little girl. Martha and millie are nice but used by close family/friends. I'm liking Megan - that's going on the list.

Thanks for all the ideas so far - definately helps! :)

Matilda - Maddy for short.

Jellybluebean · 14/09/2016 22:13

Ooh never thought of having Maddy as a shortening of Matilda.... One of the reasons I was unsure about Matilda was because I hate Tilly, but if I could have Maddy instead...
