Considering this name for DS2. I like the sound of it and don't think its that common. What do you think?
Surname is short starting with K

I'm with Jesus (Grin)
"Gaaaavin" in a welsh accent and "Gavlaaaaaar!" In James Corden's voice is all I can hear!!

My 'guilty secret' favourite 1970s name. I love all the decade appropriate references being attached to it. I picture Gavin aged about seven with a blond bowl haircut and a nylon polo neck in Harvest Gold ( or was the colour of his mum and dad's Maxi) or maybe narrow stripes, brown, orange and gold.

I really like Gavin. Think you should go for it. Also like Kevin and Craig.

Seekingmiracles · 14/09/2016 08:54

Baby Gavin?! Haha! I find it as funny as Baby Steve or Baby Dave.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/09/2016 09:12

Craig?! Noooo. No Baby Craig. Please. Grin

lavenderpekins · 14/09/2016 09:21

'Aw-wight Gav!!'

Noooo!!

Biscuitsneeded · 14/09/2016 14:15

I don't like it, but I was a 70s baby. I'm sure it will have its day again, but am not certain the world is ready for it just yet!

DrWhooves · 14/09/2016 14:21

70s/80s names are making a comeback, my 5 year old has classmates called Kevin and Colin. I quite like Gavin. Better than the endless parade of Cayden/Jayden/Hayden that we've had for the last few years round my way.

Helmetbymidnight · 14/09/2016 14:28

Don't like Gavin, but sure it's due a revival.

I do like Jason (Jay) for its Greek Mythology connections and also a cute boy a primary school.

Yika · 14/09/2016 14:32

Oh I see I'm in a minority. I love the name Gavin, isn't it a variant of Gawain and means 'hawk'? I find that rather romantic. Start a revival OP!

MrsJoeyMaynard · 14/09/2016 14:33

Seeking there were 2 David's in DS1's nursery a year or two ago.

I was quite surprised to see any little David's, let alone 2 in the same nursery group, i'd wrongly thought David was out of fashion for babies now.

MitzyLeFrouf · 14/09/2016 14:38

My friend has a baby called David.

He's not called Baby David though a la the Royle Family.

CodyKing · 14/09/2016 14:41

No Gavin Barry Gary Jason ! All ousted for a reason!!

Seekingmiracles · 14/09/2016 18:02

David isn't so bad. My friend was christened Steve - not Steven which I find hilarious. So Dave is in the same camp for me. But I'm still not feeling the 70/80s revival!

albertcampionscat · 14/09/2016 20:25

Gawaine, Agravaine, Gareth and Mordred were Morgana Le Fay's sons. All ace. Except for Gareth.

W8woman · 16/09/2016 14:58

Morgan Le Fay shagged her brother, so perhaps not a role model you'd like to emulate.

Gawain is a great name provided you've read the poem and don't mind him being a dick.

albertcampionscat · 16/09/2016 17:29

Half brother.

albertcampionscat · 16/09/2016 17:29

Still not good.
