My uni friend was Devorah, which I love. And Keziah is fab too.

CordeliaFrost · 05/10/2016 18:33

RockinHippy - Eden is a gender neutral name though, whether you think so or not.

While it's more common as a girl's name, it's not unusual to find it on boys, and I know three male Edens.

RockinHippy · 06/10/2016 00:51

Cordelia

Where did I say it wasn't gender neutral Confused

I don't like it as a boys name, that's all

shittlebaggle · 06/10/2016 01:14

Jerusha

Lucienandjean · 06/10/2016 01:54

Naomi, Ruth, Kezia, Deborah, Abigail, Esther, Tamar, for girls.

Joseph, Adam, Reuben, Asher, Samuel, Benjamin, Simeon, Mordecai, Amos, Micah for boys.

lizzieoak · 06/10/2016 03:21

I love the name Keziah, but I've got to say, I don't know a single Jewish girl with the name. Ditto Deborah/Devorah, though I know lots of old ladies with that name.

RockinHippy · 06/10/2016 08:04

I do know a Jewish Keziah, she is a very intelligent, thoughtful sophisticated & beautiful 30yo - she goes by Kezzi, which I like as a NN too, especially for a LG

GinIsIn · 06/10/2016 08:15

I really like Yiska, Esther and Shoshana.

EssentialHummus · 06/10/2016 08:26

fenella, "yiska" is something like "business deal" in Hebrew Smile.

SofiaAmes · 06/10/2016 08:29

zahava
shirell
nessia
ashira
dahlia

EssentialHummus · 06/10/2016 08:47

Sofia, "ashira" means "wealthy". Maybe Shira (song)?

I'll stop being the Hebrew police now.

Dorabella · 06/10/2016 09:51

Ezra (don't know if it's actually Jewish/ Hebrew). Still I really like the name.

lizzieoak · 06/10/2016 16:46

I like the name, but for me it has associations w Ezra Pound who was a terrible anti-semite.

My DS has just suggested Tamir, Yuval, and Gavriella. Not sure about the last one, it doesn't sound even slightly Jewish to me. I know loads of Sarah's and David's, but they aren't exclusively Jewish so not sure if that fits the bill.

I have a friend named Chen, pronounced almost Hen but the first letter is more like the ch in loch. I think it means beautiful?

GinIsIn · 06/10/2016 18:02

Hummus - I've almost certainly spelled it wrong but it's the name of someone I know and ice just always thought it was very pretty Grin

Ineededtonamechange · 06/10/2016 18:21

I love Shoshana. may well be using it as a middle name soon.

SofiaAmes · 07/10/2016 05:18

Those are all names of the daughters of Jewish friends of mine.

WellDidYouEver · 11/10/2016 01:26

I think Cochava (pronounced Cohava, again with the ch sound from loch) is very pretty and it means star.

Clawdy · 11/10/2016 13:39

My friend Shoshana is always known as Shani. Lovely name.

user1471461436 · 11/10/2016 13:45

Oren is lovely. Is it a boy or a girls name?

EssentialHummus · 11/10/2016 15:15

Oren is a boy's name. I think the meaning is a tree of some sort.

FinnegansCake · 11/10/2016 15:21

Shirin

user1471461436 · 11/10/2016 20:08
