Oh I love Avigail, the only one I've known was so beautiful it stuck with me as beautiful girl's name!

cexuwaleozbu · 13/09/2016 07:47

Shulamit (שולמית) or Shula for short is a lovely name. It is the feminised form of Solomon and there is a beautiful waterfall in Israel of the same name (Google it for images).

SerenDippitee · 13/09/2016 18:18

LOVE Shoshana.

Shulamit is a bit of a stereotype for an old, crochety religious woman, wouldn't go for it.

Milo
Arlo

Are not recognisably Jewish imo

Eden is a girl's name predominantly.

Eastpoint · 13/09/2016 18:37

Are you an Archers listener Essential?

Bambambini · 13/09/2016 18:44

Uzi

EssentialHummus · 13/09/2016 18:48

east No, just an opinionated Jew! What am I missing?

originalmavis · 13/09/2016 18:49

Last Jewish baby girl I met was Eden (eh-den). One before was Charlotte, before that a couple of Sharons.

Eastpoint · 13/09/2016 18:55

Essential. There is a female character in the BBC Radio 4 soap The Archers who is named Shula. She is in her 50s and not very popular with the listeners. She was a devout church goer who sent her son to the cathedral school.

Some lovely suggestions so far..

Most of the jewish women I know have names that I think are more French sounding I think ie.

Estelle
Adrienne
Monique
Mirelle
Simmone
Carelle
Danielle
Nicole

cexuwaleozbu · 13/09/2016 19:40

I don't listen to the archers. The only Shula I know (in real life) is a sassy vivacious feminist who I would consider an excellent role model to any daughter.

Macarena1990 · 13/09/2016 19:41

too many 'i thinks' {smile}
