We're really struggling to find a girls name that's right for us. DP found a name he really likes & I thought it was nice too but literally no one we've casually mentioned it to likes it. We don't feel we can ask people who know us to tell us what they think in case we did end up picking it & it'd be awkward. But really I'm not too keen to pick something that seems so unpopular. So can I ask what you think of this name? What does it evoke?
It's Adaline (pronounced Add-a-line)

im not a fan of long names myself, bcos i can never be arsed to say them the way the name deserves and would rather something short and sweet i can yell up the stairs :-D

I love it! It's not your common girls name at the moment such as Amelia or Olivia, so it's not going to always evoke positive reactions irl. But I think it's a beautiful name. You can also have Addie or Ada for short.

Second the posters who think the Adeline spelling is nicer than Adaline.

It's not my style but it seems to be along the lines of those old fashioned, very feminine girls' names that are popular at the moment Florence, Amelia, Emmeline etc.

I can't see it causing any problems for her.

I think it's lovely. Adenine just sounds like someone who would always have her shit together. Sorry to use the word shit in a thread about an unborn child puts down wine what I mean is, nice name!!
