I like the name. If you are likely to be living in the UK then you might want to use Benedict just to make life easier in terms of needing to spell the name. Actually I think that might be more important if your surname has an unusual spelling - it takes that bit extra time to spell a name on the phone.

I prefer Bruno, or maybe Michal?

Seekingmiracles · 23/08/2016 22:49

I like the Izaak spelling, it looks Polish rather than made up. Definitely use a Polish spelling, it's your heritageSmile

Love Benedict (so much I gave it as a 2nd name to ds2 Wink) but I'd go with the Polish spelling too, I think.

Mind you, Henryk is also lovely.

Really don't like Ernest though!

his hobbies are reading and being polite.

I don't really like Benedykt (didn't think of Bendydick though) and I prefer Izaak. I think it's because Benedykt looks like it could be a made up spelling... I know 2 kids from Eastern Europe called Oskar and I've never though about it until now.

I feel like the easiest option would be to either go for the English spelling of a name (or a name that's the same in both) or a name like Henryk which is clearly different from the English name.

However if you ever move back to Poland, you could have the same issue if your child had an English spelling

I sympathise OP as we're struggling trying to find names which work in English and French, which I expect is a lot easier than English and Polish

GoldFishFingerz · 24/08/2016 03:09

Great name spelt either way. If you're polish, a polish version would be carried easily.

Love the name Benedict/Benedykt

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 24/08/2016 13:16

I like Benedykt but love Henryk, Ernest and Isaak. The bendy dick thing I hadn't thought of... It could be an issue maybe (same goes for Benedict too though tbh).

Izaak sorry Blush. Doesn't look yooneeq. Someone said Aidan looked made up on another thread recently Hmm, so I honestly wouldn't let the yooneeq thing bother you too much. You know it isn't made up or try hard and I'm sure everyone else will get the picture too.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 24/08/2016 13:28

I love Izaac and Henryk.

Jooni · 24/08/2016 18:16

Love it. Also love Izaak and Henryk. Great choices!

Dh knew a Benedict at school and he (Benedict) was called Bendy Dick throughout.

I LOVE Bruno and I'm so sad that dh wouldn't even entertain it Sad
