I think summer is a bit chavvy and India rather pretentious and "wannabe"...

Still love willow

sodabreadjam · 07/06/2016 19:46

I did like it but it has become too popular.

MIllie/Poppy/Daisy/Ruby/Lily were popular girls' names a few years ago and then became pets names. Willow is going the same way - I know several cats and dogs called Willow.

disappoint15 · 07/06/2016 19:56

It still hasn't made the transition from tree to name for me.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 07/06/2016 19:58

I really like it. Also love Willa.

iloveberries · 07/06/2016 20:01

I was just "trying it" incase mine is a DD.... But the obvious shortening is "willy" or "wills"... Not so sure now....

cornishglos · 07/06/2016 20:57

It makes me think if weeping willow.

Jelliedeels · 07/06/2016 21:01

I think it's a sad name weeping willow

LadyAntonella · 07/06/2016 21:34

I love it! Was on my list for DD, but DH didn't love it.

AmyL1234 · 07/06/2016 22:15

On my list too!! Great name x

Fanjango · 07/06/2016 22:20

Was my name choice had ds been a girl. He's six foot one and has a chest measurement of 44". Glad he's a boy GrinGrin

imjessie · 08/06/2016 13:24

No one calls my Willow any of those names . I won't tell you what her shortening is because it will probably out me but no one ever has called her Willy !!! It's a beautiful name , go for it !!

imjessie · 08/06/2016 13:25

I will add as she is that bit older she is still the only one . There are quite a few now .. Annoyingly .

iloveberries · 08/06/2016 14:09

PM me the shortening jessie - I promise I won't tell!

imjessie · 08/06/2016 18:55

I don't seem to be able to. Message me and I'll message back maybe( it's not that exciting really Wink)

Twinkletwinkle4 · 08/06/2016 21:42

What a load of rubbish sodabreadjam, they were popular now dogs names... I'm not that keen on willow but it's not a dogs name to me, Ive met dogs called all sorts, George, Elizabeth, billy, Penelope, people call their pets what they are not brave enough to use most of the time, or they don't have any kids to use the name on. If you like willow go for it i say!

PrincessPlod · 08/06/2016 23:21

Very popular at the moment, but I'm not a fan

ephemeralfairy · 08/06/2016 23:22

Makes me think of the Wicker Man, and also of a very naughty only I used to ride.

ephemeralfairy · 08/06/2016 23:23

Pony!! A naughty pony.

julfin · 09/06/2016 00:38

It's pretty. And if you like it, go for it - doesn't matter what others think. But I do think it's worth considering PP's comment re:
might be a bit of a burden for a non-willowy child/adult. Like being a clumsy Grace, or a miserable Felicity.

Marmiteontoast76 · 09/06/2016 11:28

Works the other way. I was very thin, lanky, pale and awkward at school and willow/willowy was one of my many nicknames which I hated. Pretty name though but didn't name my dd this in case she got my genes.

Wineandpopcorn · 09/06/2016 11:37

I have a Willow! We call her Wilomenia as a nickname! I like Lola as a shortened version!

imjessie · 09/06/2016 13:22

I think it is a dogs , cats , pony name as I get a lot of that but I'm fine with it . I like cats , dogs and ponies Smile...Still love love love my dd name after all these years .

Willow2016 · 09/06/2016 14:59

I love it if you haven't already guessed Smile

HahahahaFuckYou · 09/06/2016 15:35

I love it! One of my favourite names, it's cute but quite a strong name.

dustarr73 · 09/06/2016 21:47
