What does her name get shortened to? I'm hoping to avoid the ubiquitous 'Ellie'....

The one I know is called Eloise. That's it

Both are called elouise

The one I know is shortened to Elle but pronounces it Ellie.

The one I know is never shortened

The one I know is Ellie but her parents chose Eloise as they wanted a name they could shorten to Ellie!
Mind you, she's 12.

One I know gets called Lou and is 5

I know an Eloisa and it is shortened to Lou

I know a very elegant Heloise who is only ever Heloise.

I know an Elouisa who gets Elouisa (which in my mind is a mash-up of Elouise and Louisa but not an actual name)

Dd is called Elle for short or Ellie but hates Eloise, I love it still she's 13

I'm a 30 year old Eloise. I used to hate it as a child and so insisted on Lou. People I've met post around 18 years old call me Eloise and I much prefer this now.

I know one who is just called Elouise, no shortening

Others I've know have been Lou. I don't know any shortened to Elle

I knew 2 neither one was shortened

I've known a few, never been shortened to Elle or Ellie. Pretty name!

It'll be her name, not yours. Ellie is a very obvious shortening of Elouise and she might love it - if you really don't like Ellie, don't do it.

The Eloise I know doesn't ever get shortened
