What does her name get shortened to? I'm hoping to avoid the ubiquitous 'Ellie'....

I know a Heloise who is known as this by everyone but very close family who call her Wheezy! I love this name, though, all of the spellings. Very beautiful.

The only Eloise I've met was called Ellie by her close family and Eloise by everyone else.

It isn't

I know one, she's 6 and its not shortened.

Louie if anything, but usually her full name.

I have a Eloisa she is known as Eloisa to everyone never shortened However many do try to call her eloise much to her annoyance.

The one we know is always Eloise too.

I know one who doesn't get shortened and one who goes by Lulu.

I know a 2 year old Eloise and I've never heard her called anything but Ellie.

Mines 5 and nobody shortens it yet. What annoys me though, is that her name is El-o-ise, but people call her el-ou-ise.

My son would have been Eloise if he had been a girl. We discussed shortening to Ellie or Lola. I think it's a lovely name.

The one I know gets called El (Elle).

We shorten my cousin's name to Ellie.

A three year old, not shortened

I have an Eloise. I don't mind (and she doesn't mind either) if her name is shortened to Ellie, but it's very annoying when people spell it 'Elouise'.
