Hi,
What's your opinion on the name Sylvie? Do you know any?
Sylvie has been front runner for a while but having a wobble now I'm close to my due date...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

We've named our three week old dd Sylvie. Took me a day or two to announce it as it was quite a last minute decision, but glad we went with it. Have had loads of people saying they love the name.

Poppins27 · 21/05/2016 21:59

I am don't know any baby Sylvies but absolutely love it!! Smile

parrotonmyshoulder · 21/05/2016 21:59

Gorgeous.

BusyBea · 21/05/2016 22:09

I have a Sylvie! Not met another one yet and people always comment on how lovely her name is.

LadyAntonella · 21/05/2016 22:39

I absolutely love it! I also like Sylvia but prefer Sylvie.

DramaAlpaca · 21/05/2016 22:40

It's lovely, very pretty. I've never met a Sylvie.

Ilovewillow · 21/05/2016 22:54

Really pretty!

doodlejump1980 · 21/05/2016 23:03

We have one in our family. Gorgeous name. Go for it!

monniemae · 21/05/2016 23:05

Love it. My 3 day old has it as a middle name :) interestingly it's much more commonly used than sylvia, I think around 200-400 a year.

EllenDegenerate · 22/05/2016 00:01

I have a seven year old Sylvie, I think it's the best name Smile

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/05/2016 00:12

Love it

Ludways · 22/05/2016 00:37

I love it. I get the vibe it's going to be popular. If that bothers you, it doesn't bother me.

julfin · 22/05/2016 01:20

I like it. Has a certain mystical woodland nymph-like quality (or is it just me?)

Suzietwo · 22/05/2016 07:49

I know a 4 year old Sylvie. I prefer Sylvia but like both

mrsschu · 22/05/2016 07:57

I know 2 Sylvie's, both under 18 months so I would say it's getting popular (around London anyway). It's ok IMO.

lostlalaloopsy · 22/05/2016 08:01

It is beautiful!! I love it, but DH wasn't keen for dd2. I was just thinking the other day it would have so suited her.

Borogoves · 22/05/2016 08:04

I know a Sylvie named after her granny Sylvia. I like it.

GoldPlatedBacon · 22/05/2016 08:04

I'm not a huge fan of it but that's because Sylvie/Sylvia was the name of a lot of my friends' parents so to me it's in the 'sandra/Linda' group. However, it is popular where I am, there are two Sylvias and a Sylvie at a baby group I go to plus a 3/4 year old Sylvie at another play group. Actually, it's the only girls name that is repeated at baby groups I attend which is odd as statistically it's not that popular

Porcupinetree · 22/05/2016 10:00

My mother in law is called Sylvie.

nectarini1983 · 22/05/2016 13:57

What a lovely refreshing change from Isla/ Izzy/ Ellie/ Lily etc. Congratulations!

waxweasel · 23/05/2016 08:52

I love Sylvie! It was on my shortlist but DH didn't like it. It would have suited 4 week old DD too because she's got bright red hair and looks like a little squirrel creature.

YellowPirate · 23/05/2016 21:43

I think it's lovely, this one will be Sylvie if it's a girl. Never met one. X

NataliaOsipova · 23/05/2016 21:46

Always makes me think of Sylvie Guillem - in my opinion, the greatest ballerina of all time. Love it!

dodobookends · 23/05/2016 21:48

Sylvie is lovely. The only one I know of is Sylvie Guillem, the French ballerina.

PterodactylToenails · 24/05/2016 19:59

I really like it.
