Ok so we are team yellow and have decided on our boys names, it's just two girls names we need help on with. After rejecting a few and going back and fourth we are left with these.

Winter is über try-hard but at the same time seems ove popular right now and Darcey is both the name of a local shop and Dawn Ward off Cheshire Housewives daughter, which may possibly be offputting.

If pushed I think I'd go for Darcey.

I would feel sorry for Winter should she ever have to study Richard III at school. "Now is the winter of our discontent ..."

Darcey is like Tracey was in the 80s: I would not touch it with a barge pole.

Winter will be known as Winnie so if you don't like Winnie then I would avoid.

Darcy (without an e).

Darcey is overused and slightly boring. Winter isn't much better...it's not a particularly nice sounding word

I assume you are actually due in the Winter? I'm not particularly a fan of the name, but it would definitely only work if she was born late Nov - Feb!

Neither are really to my taste, but Darcey edges it slightly.

Winter - never thought of it as a name before, but I like it! Darcy is more common and will date. I wouldn't worry about Winnie - if you don't use it it's unlikely others will. Short forms / nicknames are completely unpredictable, and I know quite a few children who's names are never shortened.
