For sylabble name to go with first 4 DC

CatInTheVat · 01/05/2016 22:07

Have name changed for this so I can share my DC's names without outing myself.

Our first four DC are:
Elizabeth (Eliza)
Dorothea (Dora)
Maximilian (Max)
Iolanthe (lo)

If it's a boy we are stuck except maybe Alexander (nn Sacha).

If it's a girl we are considering Felicity (but what nn?), Esmerelda (nn Esme) or Antonia (nn Nina).

Don't call a boy sasha!
Felicity could be fliss or lissy

Eeeek686 · 01/05/2016 22:11

Does it definitely have to be four syllables, as doesn't Lolanthe have three?? Sorry being picky but there are loads of nice three syllable ones so it makes a difference...!

AmyC86 · 01/05/2016 22:13

You could call your boy Anders as a NN

Eeeek686 · 01/05/2016 22:14

And why not call a boy Sacha, vince? I know a male Sacha, but no females.... Although you could also consider Sander/Xander?

Fliss or Flick are short for felicity - I know a Fliss!

Xand (Zaarnd) as NN for Alexander?
Sebastian, NN Bas

Felicity NN Flic
Victoria NN Vicci, Tory
Katerina NN Kitty

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/05/2016 22:19

Sebastian

CatInTheVat · 01/05/2016 22:20

Iolanthe starts with an I and is pronounced "eye-o-lanth-e". So they are all four sylabble.

Gabriella (Gaby)

Celestina (Cici)

ChippyMinton · 01/05/2016 22:21

Montgomery NN Monty

butteredmuffin · 01/05/2016 22:23

Sebastian is nice. Alexandra for a girl?

Potcallingkettle · 01/05/2016 22:23

Araminta - Minty
Antigone - Tiggy
Penelope - Penny or Nelly
Persephone - Sephy

Montgomery - Monty
Sebastian - Sebby or Tian

Don't call him Alexander - too many around and Sacha is not a good nickname if you are in the UK - too many girls called Sasha. Try Xander or Sandy if you must.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/05/2016 22:23

Olivia - Livvie
Emelia - Emmie, Melie

whoareyoulittleI · 01/05/2016 22:28

Cecilia?

Boys are tricky, I'll have a think

CatInTheVat · 01/05/2016 22:30

Oh I like Inigo. but its only 3 syllables. I knew one once and his nickname was Go-go! I quite like Monty from Montgomery. Alexander shortened to Anders is a good thought too.

What do people think of Antonia nn Nina?

OP posts:
Eeeek686 · 01/05/2016 22:31

OK, cool cat! Grin

So I googled it and there are actually Loads (I love baby naming!!)!

How about Dorothea - Dot
Anastasia - Stasha
Gabriella - Gabby

Zachariah - Zac
Zebediah - Zeb
Archimedes - Archi

Ratbagcatbag · 01/05/2016 22:34

Zachariah nn Zac
Jedidiah nn Jed

I think Zachariah goes really well with Maximilian.

CatInTheVat · 01/05/2016 22:35

Eeek - I have a Dorothea already! But it's a great name.

I quite like Zeb! So pleased people are finding boys names I had not thought of.

OP posts:
butteredmuffin · 01/05/2016 22:36

Nina isn't an obvious diminutive of Antonia. I think people would just think her full name was Nina.

Antonia is usually shortened to Toni, but I knew a girl who called herself Anto, which was nice.

Mummyoftwo91 · 01/05/2016 22:39

Sebastian is really lovely and matches your other children's names well, my friend had a Sebastian and his nn is either seb or sometimes they call him bash

Eeeek686 · 01/05/2016 22:44

Oh so you do.... Grin Recalled Dora and didn't think!

Catalina - Cat

Obediah - Obi
Nathanial - Nate
Montgomery - Monty
Alexavier - Xav
Smile

butteredmuffin · 01/05/2016 22:47

Nathaniel is nice.

Mummyoftwo91 · 01/05/2016 22:47

I love ophelia for a girl, not sure about a nn though
