Pommel I looooove Thaddeus! 😍 DH would never have it though 😠

In the 2014 stats there were 3 babies with DS' name, he was born in 2015.

Some of the more unusual names we considered were:
Patrick
Marshall
August/us
Ambrose
Gregory
Franklin
Calvin
Caspian

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/04/2016 20:34

My underused fave is Nicholas! It's the perfect name but can't use because of family with the name.

Girls:
Everly
Eveline
Leanda
Electra
Allegra
Tansy
Natalie
Gabrielle
Tamar
Alexis
Carina

... I could go on, there are so many cracking girls' names!

JasperDamerel · 02/04/2016 20:42

Ambrose is lovely.

Conrad or Corinna

SevenOhTwo · 02/04/2016 21:32

These are all unusual names I've come across recently - mostly in babies/kids, some adults. Some are from other cultures, so depends how comfortable you are using names from a culture that's not your own.

Girls:
Elske (Dutch - apparently not very common there either though)
Embla (Icelandic)
Linnea (Scandinavian?)
Odette
Jessamy
Cressida

Boys:
Elias
Merlin
Tennessee
Ludo (presumably short for Ludovic)
Sachin

If we'd had another boy I wanted to name him Thaddeus -DH said that was instant contraception. Philistine

My Dad is a Thaddeus! Grin

Just look at a list of baby names outside the top 100 OP.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 02/04/2016 22:17

Freya or Anya for a girl and Adam or Francis (Fran) for a boy

Caspar!

JasperDamerel · 02/04/2016 22:20

There are three Anyas and 2 Freyas at the DC's primary school, so not particularly unusual.

court26 · 02/04/2016 22:22

I'm the same I just don't like any names! I have names I don't mind but nothing that I realllly love Sad

RiverTam · 02/04/2016 22:27

Marianne
Keir

Babykr · 02/04/2016 22:36

On first reading I thought that Girl and Boy were part of the list of unusual names. I now realise they are not but they would be unusual. For consideration?

BackforGood · 02/04/2016 23:55

We want something that is likely to be the only one in their peer group but something that is very much a name. So not just a word that someone thought would sound quirky as a name! Maybe underused is more the word??

So would you consider names like Margaret, Elizabeth, Helen, Jane, Janet, Caroline, etc.
and
Mark, John, David, Peter, etc ?

or are you preferring some of the more exotic names listed above?

grumpysquash3 · 03/04/2016 00:01

Babykr do you like any of the suggestions so far?

(My DD's name has appeared above, not posted by me, so I am now very happy as I didn't think it was unusual, although possibly underused)

Give us some guidance and we will be creative :)

grumpysquash3 · 03/04/2016 00:02

It wasn't one of the ones in the post above, although they are very nice!

grumpysquash3 · 03/04/2016 00:03

Actually, her middle name is on that list :(
Right, off to bed now!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 03/04/2016 02:50

Whereabouts are you located Jasper?

IslaSinga · 03/04/2016 03:07

Naomi
Nyah
Rebekah
Nina
Genevieve

Burgatroyd · 03/04/2016 06:38

Well I'd avoid anything with EV... or El... as though prefixes to beautiful names are very popular.

Your DC is likely to be the only one in her class or school if you go for
Naomi
Christabel
Camilla
Yolanda
Bianca
Larissa

Orson
Peter
Gregory
Anton
