Final 3 boys names - I hope!

Hi all,

These are the names we have narrowed our list down to!
DH is Irish and grew up in Ireland. I'm English and we live in England.
Our top name for ages was Rex but I quite like a name I can shorten and you can't shorten Rex. I also stupidly mentioned it to parents and was met with 'do many humans get called that?' Which put me off slightly.
Corey and Seamus are recent additions to the list. Dh loves Seamus for its Irish roots and I have to admit Its really grown on me. Shay or Seami are cute nn's.
We both love Corey but have a feeling it would have mixed reactions. I've heard it can be slang for penis but i've grown up in or near London and never heard it so wonder if people think this is an issue?
Please be kind as it has taken months for us to come up with any kind of list!

Seamus is lovely, not old mannish at all. Ps if you're shortening it to Seimi, spell it this way (with a fade on the e). Just remind your dh about 'caol le caol, leathan le leathan' so he remembers why.

Seamus is a fab name and I love the fact it's a normal solid name that's not weird or hard to pronounce. I love it. It's also unusual.

Rex and Corey aren't half as nice. I don't mind names that are 'dog' names as two of my children were actually names after favourite dogs.

Corey would be my choice.

Seamus & Cormac are the best by far.

Seamus is a great name, love it!

Hate the name Seamus - there will always be an issue with spelling and/or pronunciation.

Corey too American.

Love the name Rex - very cool.

I like Seamus a lot.

Not a fan of Rex, because it doesn't seem very usable (for a person) to me. And Corey would be considered very outdated where I live... put it in the same category as Trent and Kyle.

Rex - like it. Was on my boys list.
Seamus- like it because you're husband is Irish. Wouldn't like it otherwise.
Corey - I like it but my husband and BIL do use it as slang for penis

Corey reminds me of the girl Cody from Neighbours which I always thought sounded like an STI.

Rex is my favourite, it was on our list for DD (until we knew she was a DD). I think it really cool.

You can't shorten it whereas the Seamus I know is called Shay which I think isn't particularly nice.

Seamus is lovely.

I've known a few lads called Seamus growing up (Catholic schools so lots of Irish heritage). They have all been really nice lads. The kind your mum would approve of.

I love Seamus, but then I'm Irish so maybe I'm biased.
It's fairly common in Ireland but I wouldn't say it's as common nowadays with the younger generation which I think makes it even nicer.

I don't dislike Corey, though might spell it without the e maybe.
I only know one Cory and she is a girl which is maybe quite unusual. I had never heard that it is slang for a penis!! ( doesn't make much sense TBH)

Rex- is pretty amazing in my opinion. If I met a kid called Rex I'd think it was awesome. It's quirky but I don't think too out there.

Seamus is the safer of the two ( and nice that it has the Irish origin) maybe you could use both?

Love Seamus, I'm English but do business with many Irish folk and it pops up often as does Cormac which I also love.
