Thoughts on the name Rosie

I really like it but don't hear it very often. What do you think?

I like it.

I like it and shortlisted the Irish name Róisín for a girl (little rose). I know a grown up Rosie but no kids so its possibly not that common anymore, if that's what you're looking for?

For me it's short for Rosemary or Rosalind or Rosemund. I prefer Rosa if it's for a short name, or Rose.

I like it short for Rose or one of the other Ros- names.

My mums name so I love it

Love it. I've heard of quite a few recently, especially Emily Rose...using both names.

I have a friend who is Rose, always known as Rosie, she's in her 30's. I don't know any kids with the name. I like it.

I know a lovely young woman called Rosie .

My dog is also called Rosie, she's lovely too!!

Our Rosie is officially a Rosa - once she got to secondary school she chose to use what she considered the more grown up version and only her family and very close friends still call her Rosie

I love it, that's why I named my daughter Rosina, but she's generally called Rosie or occasionally Rose (Rosie-posy, rosie-Roo etc).

I am not a fan of Rosie. I find it too sweet. Very cute on a girl under 10 and over 50 but a teenager and into adulthood i am not so sure. Only my opinion though but as everyone else loves it i thought i would offer a dfiferent view point!

There is also a really common trend at the moment to Add the name Rose to other names so i feel its been over used. Rose as name on its own is beautiful and nicknamed Rosie for however long she wants to.

I like Rosie. I know an adult Rosie and feel it works for a child and adult.

It's my favourite girls name. I know a couple of adult Rosies and they're awesome. My dd is a Rosie, it suits her very well

I like it but much prefer it as a nn... I think Rose, Rosa, Rosalind, Rosanna, Rosalie are all beautiful and could be shortened to Rosie. Lovely :)

I love the name Primrose so really like Rosie too.

My dd is Rosabel nn Rosie. Lovely name, IMHO ;) but I prefer Rosie as a nn rather than a standalone.

I'm a Rosie

As a child I always felt like it was a little bit too 'sweet' which I didn't like because I was a tough cookie- climbing trees and playing football :D but its an easy name to live with and I was complimented many times over it.

It gets shortened to Rose by dh and dsis

I prefer Rose.

Dd2 is a Rosie so I love it

She also got called Rosie Roo, she is 10 now and all her friends call her Roo. She's only ever met one other Rosie.

There's an Irish name Roise (row-sha) which is similar.

I know a toddler Rosie. I think it's cute but I'd be inclined to go with Rose/ Rosanna/ Rosalind etc and use it as a nn.
