I really like it, but is it a bit "out there"? Hmm

It's a great name, traditional but underused.

JennyOnAPlate · 08/01/2016 10:46

I really like it.

Robotgirl · 08/01/2016 10:52

Lovely lovely lovely name

crumb04 · 08/01/2016 10:56

I really like it but I have a funny surname Confused (it's my username without the digits of course) lol! Do you think it sounds odd? It's so hard to match any name with that kind of surname!! Sad

Love it.
Sorry but the surname is the issue, not the forename! Just don't call him Bread. Or Cake. Or...
Casper might sound nice. Casper Crumb. Ezra Crumb. Theophilus Crumb. Michael Crumb.
Its ok. Ezra's a sound name. It will be fine.

crumb04 · 08/01/2016 11:07

Yeah it's such an odd name no matter what!! I've only had it since last year after getting married so not sure I've completely got my head around it yet! Lmao!!
My other names I like are Dexter and Albie? But Ezra feels like a strong name for a boy/man so like it a lot.

I love Ezra. If had another boy it would be top of my list!

Cheesymonster · 08/01/2016 11:14

I love Ezra and Albie. Dexter not so much. However if you were to call him Brad Crumb that would make me really happy Smile

doceodocere · 08/01/2016 11:18

I like Ezra, and it's getting a lot of love on various name boards at the moment.

My sister has an Ezra, as does her friend. They are trendy types.

Marzipants · 08/01/2016 11:20

I like it, and I think it goes well with your surname.

HanSolo · 08/01/2016 11:21

I like Ezra and Dexter. Albie, I really don't, particularly with your surname.
Plus a lot of people will say 'Alfie'.
Ezra may become a little more popular, because there is a character in Star Wars Rebels named Ezra, but I doubt its ever going to be top ten.

BikeRunSki · 08/01/2016 11:23

It's a great name, and didn't do Ezra Pound any harm with a funny surname. Well he had a fairly checkered life, but ...

mamalovebird · 08/01/2016 11:25

I know a little Ezra. Love it.

BikeRunSki · 08/01/2016 11:31

its another Old Testament name waiting for a revival. When I was a child I knew no one called Isaac, Joshua or Zachary (actually there was one Zachary in 6th form) - now those are some of the most common names amongst my DC's peers.

mudandmayhem01 · 08/01/2016 11:35

My dog is called Ezra, I thought rhyming Ezra hound, Ezra pound was funny about 15 years ago. Sadly I still think it is funny now, and the lovely Ezra is still with us, would have considered it for Ds but you can't name your son after the dog unfortunately.

ingenvillvetavardukoptdintroja · 08/01/2016 11:43

I know of 3 so it's obviously not weird (not exactly habbakuk). Don't know if it might sound a little dickensian with your surname?

Lovemybubble15 · 08/01/2016 11:50

My little boy (5 months ) is called Ezra. I've had oooo isn't it exotic. Seriously it's a biblical name people. We used tho cause of the meaning.

MitzyLeFrouf · 08/01/2016 11:54

It's a name that's mentioned a lot on here but I'm not sure if that means it's MN popular or Real Life popular.

Old Testament style names are uber trendy at the mo so it would fit in with that trend.

MitzyLeFrouf · 08/01/2016 11:56

So definitely on the rise but still only 266 born in 2014

TheBigRedBoat · 08/01/2016 12:08

I think it's lovely and no real issues with Crumb

SugarMiceInTheRain · 08/01/2016 12:11

Love it, DD would have been Ezra if she'd been a boy!

R0nJ0n · 08/01/2016 12:11

I really like it, but from some of the comments on here it sounds like it might be about to become the new Noah or Isla, in other words go from a nice underused name to a reception class with two or three in a few years.

crumb04 · 08/01/2016 12:15

Thank you for your comments it's actually helped a lot. It's nice to get people's reactions either way. Smile
